What sort of fan are you?

Farmer Fossett

Youth Team⭐
I used to work with a Man Utd fan who lived in Surrey and used to see every match (home, away, Europe) + even taking time off work to see them play Bury in league cup etc. He even used to see the occasional reserve match. Now to this day I have not come across a more dedicated fan I often asked if he actually had a life!!!

Personally I only have time to see home games with the occasional away match due to family commitments (and taking up golf). I never have seen the point in seeing pre-season games as these games are rarely are a true reflection on how we will do at the start of the season. I also have not seen a reserve match to date as most are mid week and would rather spend my holiday doing other things.

I applaud the dedicated fans that have not missed a pre season or reserve match in 50 years but personally can never see the point or reason for seeing such games. I would be willing to go if someone could convert me!!!

Most Home games (season tickets) a couple or so away each season.
usually do the odd pre season away game at a smaller club just for the day out.
I have never seen a reserve game, but I have been to a couple of Youth cup matches

What he said without the Youth games

I do what I can within the monetary constraints I have, STH and anything else I can afford at the time. I do wonder how clubs like Man U and Liverpool attract such massive followings at away games, especially European ones - must cost an absolute fortune.......or is this a strange coincidence along the lines of some other threads at the moment?

I don't want it to sound like a criticism but I honestly can't understand the mentality needed to go to a reserve game or youth game unless you want to know everything about every player on the books of the club. I've seen a couple of friendlies in the past but only to look at the odd new signing in action (or "action" in Ricketts' case).

I'm probably a 20 game a season man to be honest around 50/50 home away. I'd be season ticketed if I was still in East London or Southend. Pretty much 4 1/2 hours of travelling to get back for home games, though, and a fair few away games are much easier to get to.

i'm with you there.. probably about 20 games a season with an even split

I have a season ticket, and go to most Away Games... Always make special point if I havent been to an Away Ground before.

I absoutely love preseason. A chance to stand on the terrace or grassy knoll, and wander around listening to Tilly and Brush wittering between them. Chance to see the kids play, and Harrold score goals !

Would definitely travel abroad to watch.

Dont usually bother with Youth or Reserves games

That's my thinking with away travel these days, financially cannot afford to go to all the games I'd like. STH at home, go to most home cup games. Don't do reserves/youth and only the occasional friendly.

Try to see every 1st team match home and away including pre-season friendlies. Considered watching the youths in the latter stages of their cup last year.

Try not to arrange anything that can possibly clash with a match.

Never considered myself that unusual; could probably identify a couple of hundred of souls in the same boat as me... most of them are probably regulars on here anyway.

season ticket holder(for years) and prob about 6/7 away games every season, in the past have blagged sickies, begged favours and cash to go to games, seriously could not imagine not going to football

A SKINT ONE. I am a season ticket holder living in jersey, get to most home matches and 9 away last season when in southend i watch reserves the lot

These days i can make it over to a match once a month or two. I listen to every game on Bluesworld each saturday, and work extra hours around my uni studies so i can afford the flights and travel to Roots Hall for when i do make it over.

Once i get a decent job in a couple of years, i'll be over a lot more. Just have to be content with what i can do for now...

Probably 20 games a season home and away....living out of the region....cant justify a ST however i may have to purchase one next season for that last game ever to be played at Roots....

I go all the home games(Season ticket),about half of away games, most home res games also some pre season games

Season ticket.. will prob miss 3 or so games a season at the Hall due to Holidays etc, but my ticket is always used .. Have often missed the start of games due to leaving the pub too late.. Never left before the end, no matter how much im busting for a ****.. Try to get to all the closer away games, midweek suits me better for these

In an attempt to avoid the Anorak tag which is rapidly heading my way, the Youth games were the "Big " FA Youth cup ones and were also undertaken for the night out as well as to give the kids a bit of support . West Ham away for example (I think that was a night out organised on here, i cetainly recall Mike Smith and Uxbridge being in attendance)

ST Holder which means all home games. I also try to get to away games but its not always possible. I particularly try to get to the away grounds i've not been to before. Normally i try to get to a couple of preseason friendlies (this season ive been to 4 already). Only ever done 1 youth game and 1 ESC game.

It dont cost that much to get out
It dont cost that much to get out to Europe as long as you book early or go via somewhere. My flights to russia via germany cost 150 pound return. My flight to germany in november cost less then 2 pound. At to answer the thread i go to all home and away league and cup games all pre season games and alot of youth and reserve games. I live, eat and breath southend united
