The future of SUFC is part of my personal life, and yes I am worrying about it.

If you get hit with a few financial bombshells in the future, please don't come on here moaning and groaning.

Purely for market research purposes what price:-

1. Would you expect the price of a season card to be 2010

2. Would maximum [if any] would you be prepared to pay for a season

if and when the club move to a new ground/stadium

What's the point in this thread

Market research? Is this going to have a bearing on the Season cards in 2010 then? In that case, I'll say £50. Tops.

1. About £575

2. Anymore than £750 would make me seriously think twice

All of this is of course utterly dependant on which league we are in in 2010

OK lets for the purpose of the exercise say we are in FL1, so that a fair comparison can be made with exisiting prices.

£460 for the equivalent to today's West Stand.

I would imagine a 20% premium on todays prices would be fair so an adult one this year i think was £380 so around £460 would be ok i think
Anything north of £550 would be a bit much i think at FL1 level imo

Which is exactly what you seem to do about everything...Ian, there must be something missing in your life that you feel the need to moan about everything. Please, Please, Please, stop starting inane threads!!

Anything cheaper than Colchester United's awfully high prices!

Bullseye. If you think that is awful, contemplate:-

2008/9 Col U, require £500 for 23 games [equivalent of about £21.70 per game if their fans are unlucky eneough to manage to get to see all of them] + £8-£10 for the priviledge of parking at their out of town location.

In 2 years time you could expect near the £600 mark at their inferior stadium, build cost of which is tiny compared to our currently projected £80M.

So if you are asked to shell out example say: £750 or somewhere near West Ham current season charge are you going to pay up and look big and boast our prices are higher than theirs, or then raise questions, when it may be all too late.

I for one would like to know rather sooner if both you and I will be able to afford supporting the club, based upon projected business plans and figures that should be known to RM right now.

Yes some factors may change that may alter the figures, but present projections on known information, would be a start.

To be honest as long as they give me the option to pay it before the season starts in monthly installments like they did this season I will pay whatever.

I would probably also pay the price, but there are others who might well be priced out and that would be criminal.

Indeed, they made a terrible mistake with their pricing and from memory were asking £580.

Ours is £380 now and taking into account inflation, plus the fact we should expect to pay more for the new stadium and Id say anywhere from £450 - 500.

That equates to £19.50 - £21.74 per game which isnt too bad.

However it would be nice to have a better range of prices, ie pricier at the halfway line than by the corner flat etc.

What's the point in this thread

Good point. What is the point in thinking about the price of season tickets in 2010 when we have over a year to go until then and we need to consentrate on the present day and the next game against Hereford and keep supporting the Blues. UP THE BLUES!

Anyway around £400. anything over £500 would make me think twice.

Anyway I could become rich by 2010 or I could go bankrupt so, again, its hard to say.

They are in a completely different situation to us though Ian.

There stadium is owned by the local council and always will be, as well as paying rent on the stadium, they have to pay back the interest on the loan that the council took out to fund the project which i believe from the COLU messageboards has added £2/3 to the ticket fees alone. They also have no alternative income streams that may help to subsidise the club as we understand we will have. I think that we all expect a price increase but I dont see much point on speculating on on amounts until nearer the time, who knows what the inflation rate between now and then will be as well as the popularity of the club and division etc.

You can add £300+ a year in travel to the cost of supporting a London team. That's the benefit of supporting a local team as well as supporting the local community.................

You're right to say there's a lot of variables, but as II points out, RM and all the various backers involved must be working with several sets of projected/possible income streams within which season ticket costs will be one input. I don't think it's information that will be released (because the club have little to gain and potentially quite a lot to lose by releasing it now), but that doesn't mean the numbers aren't out there.

But Colchester reduced their initial prices & the early bird price for the cheapest adult season ticket was £391 only £11 more than ours. Also their cheapest adult matchday price is £20 which is £2 cheaper than at Roots Hall. They can't blame low crowds on the price of admission.

Make it free for all under 11's (yes with a paying adult, say 2 per adult), child price (under 18) then goes to whatever it is now - we already give them the worst section anyways. One price unemployed (with proof!), one price students & OAP's and then the usual fleecing of the workers lol! You get my drift....

Could fill the ground a bit more as we do have 22k seats!

Other than that, will there be increments for the 'good' seats in the new stadium? You want that halfway line section you pay top dollar?!
