What players contracts are up?

adwebb16

Coach
The words 'a few contracts are up' have been said a few times. I would like to know whose and the opinions of wether they should be offered new ones.

Hunt, Hooper, Sodje and Flavs. Plus Spinner, obviously.

Hunt - 1yr on lesser terms (take it or leave it) - much like they offered Benno & Wayne Grey last year

Hoops - Yes, 2yrs

Sodje - No, sorry Efe but it's time to go.

Flavs - Yes, but agree a release clause if somebody offered £300k+ for him

In that case:

Hunt - I'd agree with the one year, but he's just not good enough for me, i'd rather have a youngster as a squad player.

Hooper - yes for sure, sign him on see how he performs, still a long way to go.

Sodje - Wasn't in the squad yesterday, i expect him to go anyway. Has been a good player for us, couldn't quite cut it this year, injury perhaps, maybe age. Would still do a job in League 2, maybe League 1.

Flavs - He's such a great little player. Commitment and excellent form wants me to keep him, but sometimes you have to think is it time for a change? I don't know what to think really. He makes some great saves, but him with his height do they look better than they actually are? (If you catch my drift), a regular save for an average sized Gk would be a huge leap for Flavs. I'm not sure, great servent for the club 7 great GK no doubt.

Spinner - 5 year contract? Jokes aside a true footballing brain, shame he can't stay behind the scenes, but deserves to enjoy life away from footie and in Oz!

I will always rate Flahavan as one of the best shot stoppers I have ever seen, but this season has shown time and time again that he has no control over his six yard box let alone the area. Too many times this season left asking WHERE WAS DARRYL as the ball nodded in three yards from goal.

Agreed - think we either need to give Collis a run and see what he can do, or get someone in who can catch an inswinging corner/free kick/cross. Time and time again yesterday we needed Darryl to take the ball from the head of the saints players, but either he didn't jump or he ended up punching the ball and gifting them possession back.

Anyone know for sure what the situation is with Darryl? I was certain he was out of contract this summer but in his recent BluesWorld interview, unless I misheard him, he said he still has a year left...

i reckon orient will try and get hooper during the summer. i really hope we does decide to stay as i think he would be really good for us next season

How many more times have I got to remind people. Lewis Hunt still has another year left on his contract. He signed a 2 year contract around the time the team jetted off on tour to Bermuda last July.

Players contracts that are set to expire are, Spencer Prior but we know he is retiring. Gary Hooper, Efe Sodje, Che Wilson and James Lawson. Every other player has either 1 or 2 years left on their remaing contracts.
