Being alive! On Friday 13 of Dec I had life saving Cancer surgery (8 hours) and then three months rest at home--Ms Baldy was my angel who came down from heaven.

Never take life for granted!!!

Other half won another £100 on Premium Bonds, & daughter in law won £675 as well!.

Have they upped the interest rate / prize payout on premium bonds? Most I ever win in a month was 2 £75 payments pre-covid and I'd maxed out my allowance. Cashed it all in during covid and diversified my investments.

The amount of support I have received from veteran and Youth groups alike, if my maths is correct, Southend will be joined by around 30 Flags on the night, and possibly 100-150+ Young people

Our road is a pothole magnet. Yesterday it got too much and we reported them to SBC with photos. Today email received saying they had looked at them and would mend them within 28 days. You always know if they have as they spray those to be repaired with orange paint. I toddled out to see if there was any orange paint and there was. 5 enormous potholes identified. I’ll keep you posted but I’m impressed so far.

They’ve just repaired 4 out of the 5. The fifth has a car parked too near the pothole so they’ve put no waiting signs out and presumably will be back later to do it. So they are within the 28 days. Basically the council need to be told where the potholes are and it seems they will repair them.

If a car, or other road user, hits a pothole and suffers damage, if the council knows about the pothole and hasn't repaired in a reasonable time then they can be held liable for the cost of the damage. If they don't know about it then they can use that as a defence to not pay out. Hence why they'll be keen to repair once notified

Got a puncture at the moment. Hard to say why. As well as potholes the council don’t seem to sweep the roads. They are filthy. They say they do it every 6 weeks but they lie. I do our road pretty regularly and there are screws and nails along with the usual red bull cans and Macdonald’s rubbish (there isn’t even one in Leigh) and even once a pair of knickers???? Why are Red Bull drinkers incapable of walking 20 yards to put the can in the bin.
