What has Simon Francis done?

DTS

The Business
Does anyone else think he is far too good to be stuck in the stiffs. I accept he is prone to lapses of concentration sometimes but lets face it so are they all.

Having watched another 90 mins of Tommy Cack failing to produce anything, or tackle back I cant help but think Francis could do a better job.

He has good pace and strength, delivers a good ball and has a decent shot on him.

He also went up 100% in my book saturday when he emerged from the tunnel to sign autgraphs wearing the same flip flops I have been slated for wearing to football.

So come on Tilly - Give us a look at Francis please mate.

DtS

Franco deserves to be in the team albeit Hunt has played very well in the last few games.

With our wingers not performing maybe there is a case for him playing there as has been mentioned elsewhere. His height would be an advantage at the back for set plays aswell.

Maybe they should play him on the wing in the reserves to see how he does. Although to be honest his attacking play has been very good that I have seen.

Certainly a decent crosser of the ball, can attack defenders and ofcourse can defend if required. Seems an ideal candidate given our wingers lack of good performances of late. Not sure either Messrs Gower or Black have performed better than Franco could, plus he would have something to prove to Tilly....ie that he should have a starting place in the team.

I'd definately give Simon another run the side, Hunty is doing well at right back but can't see why he couldn't slot in front of him. Remember he played up front a couple time last year and scored.

Francis deserves a chance and I think with Black and Gower being so off form, I think that Simon deserves his chance on the wing. He can be an excellent player he just needs to be given a chance.

Personally I think there's more of a case for Maher to come back in for one of the wingers instead and having Macca right midfield again which is when we've looked most solid and overall a better side.

Having said that I'd have Francis over Hunt at right back even though Lewis has done OK the last few games.

Francis deserved his chance a few weeks ago. However Lewis Hunt is now performing at a decent standard and it would send out a pretty poor message were he to be dropped. I think Francis is the better player but if he gets a chance it needs to be at the back. He had a run at right wing last season and showed then that he isn't a winger.

I actually think he has the right attributes to be a decent central-midfielder and he showed last year that he can make a decent fist of being an emergency striker too but he's no winger.
