Sorry if this has been discussed but Alan McCormack has turned down a contract but why has he not been transfer listed. Has there been a mistake and he has but not Clarke. I was not aware that Clarke was offered an extension before todays statement

to be honest, i wasn't aware that clarke was being given a contract extension, but its no suprise after the way he played last year.
and i totally agree. surely theres something odd going on?

I think it's key that Macca has rejected the initial contract offer, so there will be more negotiations to come, however it is promising that he hasn't been transfer listed which may suggest these negotiations aren't a million miles apart.

Or that he's simply not as greedy as the others.

Personally I think Macca loves playing for this club and he is one of the key men is this team. No idea what he is earning at present but deserves to be one of the top earners IMO. And the fact that is not transfer listed also shows to me that negotitions are going quite well and that something positive (yes something positive may come out of Roots Hall this week!) will materialise soon.

I think he also turned his contract down after the others which explains why he hasn't been lumped in with them. As I understand this is the first stage of negotiations, whereas certainly Bailey's and Francis' have been going on for some time. Admittedly we weren't aware of Clarke's, well, I wasn't.
