Wet Spam preferred bidders for Olympic Stadium

Disgraceful decision.

Obviously Orient would have been far more suited to it if you listen to Barry Hearn. Seeing 3,000 people in a 60,000 capacity stadium would have been amazing.

So after all that and having the original decision cancelled Spurs didnt even bid ?!

cant wait to see 35,000 westham fans in it, they will only get more if they do £10 a time but with the running costs of this and the tickets being around the £30 mark, westham could end up going under:smile:

They are averaging 34k at present which is 96.6% capacity.
Yeah doing a lot of discount tickets advertising on radio stations kids a quid etc still had 500 chelsea tickets being advertised on talk sport a couple of days before the game .Wait and see when stoke come down on a cold tuesday night and they have got 60000 tickets to shift all the west ham fans i know say 40000 stadium would be right

Monday night:

Mon 19 20:00 H Stoke City PREM D 1-1 35,005

You dont build (steal) a stadium for the size you are now, otherwise theres no point in moving. 60,000 does indeed sound too much, but if they got 45-50,000 then that would be fine and Im sure moving would bring an extra 10,000 in for them.

Wigan used to get 1500, now they get 17,000+ so who knows what West Ham will get in a new stadium.

My main fear is how many from Southend will go seeing as Stratford is very convenient to get to....

Yes and how much were the tickets they will get to attract a few more but part of the buzz is having an atmosphere when they play the top four yes it wil be great but as we know when the ground is half full for the rest of the games its not the same

Whats it matter? They sold out for a Monday night game that was on TV.

They will be able to offer cheap prices at the new stadium with much better facilities.

As for half full, they already get 35,000 and no doubt will get 45000+ in the new stadium, it wont be half full. They may not sell out every game but they will get an increase and am sure they will get decent crowds.

Whether the stadium will actually be any good and whether there willbe an atmosphere remains to be seen and the designof the stadium will have more of an impact on that than West Ham's ability to sell tickets Im sure.
