Question Wembley Pilgrimage for Exiles.

Need you ask?

Hong Kong, just after I get over the jet lag from this trip back (been wide awake since 3am). I’ll be doing my shortest ever fly back (2 or 3 days).

I’m sure our Malaysian exile will be back and I recall some from Australia v Wycombe. Other exiles dotted around Asia so interested to hear of their plans.

For this past trip I did the Emirates transit through Dubai for the first time, if you exclude the enforced Covid exile. I’m doing that again. It’s a longer trip but getting out at Stansted is infinitely easier for me than Heathrow and levels out the experience. My UK house is less than 30 mins away. Dubai airport is phenomenal for shopping, food, seating and has smoking rooms ha ha. Also Emirates knocks spots of Cathay Pacific for just about everything but especially price, seat size and recline. Refuse to fly BA long haul, awful airline and experience.

Up at 5am Thursday. Car into Stornaway for 7am Ferry Stornaway to Ullerpool two and three quarter hour crossing, then hour n half on bus to Inverness. Another bus to Inverness airport for 14.55 flight to London Gatwick. Arrive Gatwick at 16.40.
Get train to Brighton. Change there for train to St Leonards. Should be there around 19.30 ish. Spend couple of days at my Sisters recuperating then Sunday on to Wembley with my Niece and Brother in law for game. Monday do it all again but in reverse.
What we do to follow our football team!!!
Come on you blues.

Though I made it back to the UK for Crewe in the JPT, I had to watch the legendary Wycombe game via a dodgy stream as we'd just moved into a new flat in Helsinki. Ten years on, I couldn't face missing another Wembley playoff final so will be making the relatively short hop over next weekend.

I'm working at a Finnish premiership game on Saturday afternoon so will be heading straight from there to the airport for the night flight to Heathrow. I expect the quality of the football to be much higher on 1 June as, frankly, either us or Oldham would probably walk that league!

Not as far as many of you, but I sat here listening to BBC Essex on Wednesday (almost midnight here) and as soon as the penalty from GSM went in I logged into Ryanair and booked my flights (so expensive as so near to the date), landing Stansted Saturday afternoon leaving to come back Monday lunchtime. Staying Premier Inn by Halfway House. Going up by train (via Marylebone given the tube issues) with my lad and his mates - last time at Wembley for me was a year ago when the mighty Great Wakering Rovers got to the FA Vase final.
Thought when booking this one that it could be my last time there......

Just completely delighted... Come On You Blue Boys (or red... or whatever)

Good, you might just land in time for kick off then.

Nothing was gonna make me miss this game. Im flying from Calgary to Heathrow next Friday, picked up by my Dad and my little niece who I havent seen for almost a year. Enjoy being home for a day and then the nerves will start to kick in on Saturday night.

On the beers, not stopping if we win or lose. 1st June has to be a celebration of getting our club back.

Then back I go to Calgary on the Tuesday with a short stop in Denver, Colorado. (Feels almost impossible to find two direct flights for cheap these days)
