Welsh response to NZ Haka

fredheim_holm

Where art thou Tes 🦐
Just read aboutt his on the BBC and looked it up on youtube.

Now I'm not a massive rugby fan, I only watch it if it's the world cup and if it's England. But watching the Haka is an immense experience in my opinion, and seeing the Welsh response was just as good, if not better. I guess it's just the confrontational spirit that arises in me when playing Sport, but I loved it.

Sorry if it's been mentioned already, did a quick search and nothing came up.

awesome by the Welsh, fair play to them. The Haka is one of the few things in sport that always sends a shiver down my spine.

By full length I didn't think think they meant widescreen, but it seems they do.

I find it hilarious that the Kiwis are getting upset that opposition aren't "respecting" the Haka. The Haka is a war dance, it is the opposition declaring war on you. To be honest the Kiwis shouldn't even be allowed to perform it, as it is an attempt to intimidate the opposition, but it is such good panto it would be a shame to lose it.

Hadn't seen that before, great response from Wales didn't do them much good in the game though! Loved the ref trying to get both teams to start and no-one moving.

and that, in my opinion, is the ONLY good thing about rugby...I bet the game was a one sided bore, as normal

In the words of Ronan: "You say it best when you say nothing at all"

I wish football had some of the eccentricities of more middle class sports. We're watering it down with every tweak and amendment to the rules, but its the moments like this that make sport the spectacle it is.

I thought the Welsh response to the Haka was amazing. Its about time someone did something like that, it really pumped the crowd up and Wales were flying for the first half. I don't think the Kiwi's expected it and it really rattled them.

The game itself was quality, it was only half way through the 2nd half that NZ started getting into it, they were really hanging on in the first half.

So what will England do in response? that is the big question, we can't let the welsh better us in this, and we certainly can't copy them.

I vote for Morris Dancing. The All Blacks will brick it, they won't know what the **** is going on.

Yeah, agree with all the comments, sent shivers down my spine watching that!

Jonny, it would be hilarious to see that!

Its bollocks aint it, what is everyone supposed to run away crying because of the scary haka? Nobbers.
Exactly. Hows it disrespectful to respond to it by staring them up. Did he expect them to skip away in glee or something.

Can't wait to see what England do, really hope they do something, but I doubt it.

We did nothing, which is just as well because we are once again incapable of staying disciplined and giving away far too many :censored: penalties! We could do with just concentrating on the basics of the game rather than this maori "war dance".

Pathetic again from England. We've learned **** all from the last few matches (the last few seasons in fact!) when we've given away far too many kickable penalties and were it not for Dan Carter having problems of his own, NZ could have been pushing the 50 point mark. Even more worryingly, we spent half the match with 14 men (and a period with 13 men) due to our appalling indiscipline.

Time to buck our ideas up before the 6 Nations!

Sorry, but i don't get why the welsh standing there in silence is 'amazing'

Have to agree with that. I read the BBC report and thought blimey, what did they do? When I saw the clip however it was a major anti-clmax.

The NZ league team do a Haka too and Oz and England had different ways to responding to it at the recent World Cup. The English boys went into a huddle and ignored it completely which really riled the Kiwi's. The Aussies walked slowly towards them so by the time they were finishing the Haka the two teams were eye ball to eye ball.

But then League is by far the better game anyway........

I thought the Welsh response to the Haka was amazing.

Amazing in what way? They only stood still and stared.

I recall David Campese and another player used to just go into the backfield with a couple of Rugby Balls and carry on warming up as usual. Surely the most disrespectful response would be to ignore them completely and if the crowd sang ad made a load of racket, you wouldnt hear them.
