Wedding Anniversary gifts? (1st)

My first wedding anniversary is coming up next month and I have no idea what to get the wife. I know the 1st year is meant to be paper but I have no idea what to get.

I have thought about concert or theatre tickets but the people she wants to see aren't till a while next year and she is pregnant and due to give birth in April so taking a heavily pregnant woman to see the wanted in March is probably not a good idea.

Any ideas? What did everyone else get their husbands/wives for their 1st anniversary?

Isn't cotton year 1?

Matilda is supposed to be a good show and something we've both been wanting to see.

What about taking her out for a nice Saturday (Christmas markets, meal etc?) and buy a simple gift.

To be honest we don't do very much for our anniversaries, and definitely don't stick to Paper, Cotton, Silk etc.

Well that's what I was thinking to just ignore the traditional and just get something different. My wife loves the film Matilda I might actually look into that.

1st anniversary - I bought her a coffee in Dubrovnik airport.
2nd anniversary - posh meal in Madrid
3rd anniversary - intended to have a posh meal in Madrid but it was ****ing ****
4th anniversary - kids had arrived by this time, so a posh meal locally
5th anniversary - weekend trip to Barcelona
6th anniversary - I was on a stag do In Leeds (well, I was best man after all). I believe she went to our nephew's birthday party.

A mixed bag there. Must do better next year than this!

For my 1st, Mrs MK was in hospital waiting to pop out MK Jnr!
Can't remember the 2nd.
No.3 was fish & chips on the sea front in Hunstanton.
