Website design

fredheim_holm

Where art thou Tes 🦐
Just starting to get into website design (and coding), been at it a week or two and have learnt the basics of HTML and CSS.

Just posting my first website design, made a few hours ago, which I quite enjoyed :p

Next up is learning how to slice and code the thing!

Anyone here have an interest in web-design, or even have their own website?

"This is example text."

I assume thats in a scrolly box? Any chance of letting me know how you do that? ;)

I've made a few websites on my own, but they've been very basic - but looked cool.

I've been a webdesigner 'properly' - i.e. not a hobby, for 5 years and am now Project Manager at my company.

Currently working on a massive project which could be a worldwide name within 12 the next 12 months...

If you ever need any real hosting, to host the website and stuff, give me a shout... I have a huge, but nearly "empty" server

I'm at college at the moment but I can tell you how I designed it later, but thats just a design, not a coded version.

Cheers, I'll give you a shout when I have learnt to code it, thanks very much for the offer.

Mate of mine has decided to take on facebook, myspace etc with his unique social website. Has designed and coded all himself and i think it looks amazing. Not up and running yet but will be soon. Take a look... www.webbours.com

Good luck to him and all that, but isn't this "social networking" thing at saturation?

Yep, exactly what I said to him, but he assures me this one is "unique" and "different" to all the others...

I think he will need a catchier name to take on the big boys.

First of all that, site is run through a adapted version of wordpress blog, so yes "has" coded part of it, but "no" not the full lot, most of it are addons from different power tools of, word press, joomla and CMS.

Personally I design CMS Systems, there is no point running a site using HTML or CSS any more, all you need is, someone who can do graphics and run small amounts of CSS to re design a CMS system, then you can log into a back end admin panel, add gallerys, subjects, storys, etc... have the page designed automatically and re aligned.

Sod doing the old HTML etc, unless im writing database interfaces, bit like SZ.COM Main website, its so old and poor it doesnt even stand to STAGE 1 of the WCC coding laws

I have no idea what you are talking about, but that website is all php and sql based

And if your not to thick to get a job, jack@walkerjoice.co.uk
What would the job entail? part-time, full-time? work from home? qualifications needed? age bracket?

Just enquiring :minger:

Yep, I work as a head hunter for Walker Joice Recruitment, And I work for myself in the evening designing websites.

You can see some of my work on www.lmc-uk.com, http://www.max1t.com/cpg/, http://www.dreamjump.co.uk/...

Sorry what can I say, Man of many trades... :flamer:

WTF !!!
Sorry if im dragging stuff up and people dont want to read it but having googled the word 'dreamjump' to see what forums its been posted on i found it mentioned here and to my amazement it seems i have fan...

'Jaydeaa' or who ever you are you a little fibber are you not !!!

LMC or London Modified Collective is Mambo (CMS) as is Dreamjump well tbh its Joomla which is just another version that has been updated from Mambo
and the max1t.com/cpg is only Coppermine none of this work is yours in any way, you have not 'designed' anything there, these sites all belong to me and i did all the artwork and all modifications.

Ide also like to point out that Dreamjump and max1t.com/cpg are hosted on my max1t server and anyone is welcome to run a WHOIS.
