We should be more than happy with things at present

After my initial upset at defeat yesterday, I realised that a few months ago(after defeat at Yeovil), I would have been more than happy to be where we are at the moment.
I, along with a few others, were saying that maybe its time for a change and that Tilson had taken us far as he could. I admit that I was wrong, because to win 8 out of our last 11 with the average bunch of players, which has also been injury hit, at his disposal, is pretty good going.
It wasnt long ago that we were worrying about being good enough for this league, let alone the championship, so if we do finish around where we are now, and then add a couple of new players in the close season, I will hold high hopes for the next one.
Is no coincidence either, that our good form is based upon a settled team. Our current squad of players isnt the most talented, but playing together week in week out, has bred a winning mentality amongst the team. I concede that we do seem to find it hard when he have gone a goal down, but thats more due the lack of creative players we have in midfield. Our play has become a lot more defensive in recent weeks, but that has helped us stave away the threat of relegation. Hopefully in the summer that will be remedied, and we will at least sign a left sided midfielder, which allows Moussa to play in his natural position.
Of course, if we were to win most of our remaining games, and march into the play-offs i would be delighted, but if we dont i wont be to disappointed considering relegation was on the cards only a short time ago

Trouble is, there's a little hierarchy there and I'm not quite sure where he fits into it. Macca, Grant and Jeff have all only recently signed contracts as well so indications are they are in Tilson's plans.

Someone talking sense. Exactly what I would have said!
Last night we were went to 8 unbeaten in 11 games, that's great form, but one defeat and suddenly Barrett can't play left back, Moussa can't play left midfield, no ones any good, Tilly should leave, this seasons been a disaster but it hasn't. At one stage in pre-season we had 14 players, would you have settled for being 10th in the league after 38 games then? With all the chopping and changing this season 10th is a very good position. It gives us some consolidation so we may see a similar season next year but the season once we have consolidated we can aim for promotion again. Some new fans think that mid table and consolidation aren't acceptable, we have to be getting promoted but consolidation is a step to promotion, especially with Tilly rebuilding the team right now. We need to show our support, come on you Blues!!

Amen to that.

I would totally agree 110 % with that statement, however there is one ENOURMOUS caveat....................

The main reason for the good form and the 8 wins from 11 is 2 loan players in Dervitte and Robinson.

When they go back to their clubs at the end of the season we will still be in the same mess we were in December and January with a squad of players that would struggle to stay in the division.

If Clarke goes in the summer too, then Tilly has a massive, and I do not underestimate the word, massive rebuilding job in the summer.

okey dokey but if never ever thought relegation was ever on the cards and never doubted Tilly would sort it out, it is - at the moment - a dissappointing position we are in. Given the capability the team have shown in the last 11 games I'm gutted we are not in the play positions now ...

To be fair, Barrett and Moussa are playing out of position at present. In my eyes though, they are doing well enough there at the moment.

Dervitte and Robinson have played massive parts in this run we are on at present, of that there is no doubt. Dervitte wont be here next season, even if we was to win promotion in my eyes. Robinson on the other hand, I think we have a chance with him. I could honestly see him come in in the summer.

Considering the lack of investment in the side, that we lost a lot of players last summer including by far our best two players and that we've had to rely on so many loan signings I think we're in a decent position and whilst we'd all like to be in the promotion mix I think this has to be considered a decent season all things considered.

Hopefully we will have a strong run-in, finish top-ten and more impotantly finish above Col U.
