SOUTHEND United midfielder Noor Husin has urged the Shrimpers not to let Saturday’s painful setback at Sutton derail their season.
Ashley Nadesan’s injury time leveller saw Blues having to settle for a share of the spoils at the VBS Community Stadium.
But, despite admitting he was still hurting not to have won, Husin knows Kevin Maher’s side must immediately get their play-off push back on track.
“To be fair I’m still trying to get over it and it’s just so disappointing, especially with it coming so late and us having played so well but we can’t afford to dwell on it,” said Husin.
“We had chances to kill the game off and it’s frustrating but it’s gone now and we can’t do anything about it.
“We have to move on and just focus on making sure we get three points this weekend now.”
Blues currently sit ninth in the National League standings, a point behind the play-offs ahead of this evening’s matches which includes seventh placed Rochdale heading to Sutton.
The Shrimpers are not back in action until hosting Solihull Moors on Saturday.
And Husin cannot wait for kick off.
“We’re still in a good position and Saturday can’t come soon enough really for us now,” said Husin.
“We’ve got five games to go and I’ m sure things will change in terms of league places during that time.
“We just have to focus on ourselves and try to make sure we get enough points to get in there.
“We have to move on from the disappointment of Saturday and I’m sure we will.”
Blues have beaten Solihull the last four times the two teams have met.
And the match will bring back good memories for Husin who scored the Shrimpers’ goal of the season in the same fixture last season.
“That was a good day for the team and it was nice to score,” said Husin.
“But Saturday is all about getting the three points.
"I don’t mind who scores as long as we win.”
