Wayne Gray

Just spoke a close mate of mine, who i know this may sound a bit he said that and then he said but he is Waynes brother in-law,

According to this reliable source Wayne has been offered a contract by scottish premier side Motherwell and Brighton but both on less money?

So can it be he is not accepting a contract due to the wage?

or

Not enough definate games? But will he get that at Motherwell?

Hope he does stay, when he is on fire he is a brilliant addition to the squad. Why would he rather play in scotland in a crap league over championship football wit hus.

Seconded!

Altogether now, Wayne Gray is the new Pele..........

Motherwell will be far to cold for a brother to go and live so Brighton may be an option.

Personally i dont think he is good enough for the Championship but good luck to him anyway.

Poor as it is, I wouldnt call the Scottish Premier league a 'Crap League'... chance to play at Park Head and Ibrox twice a year and a genuine chance of getting European football.

He is not sh!t.....Neville Roach, Barry Conlon, Trevor Fitzpatrick etc are sh!t.

He is a decent player never going to set the world alight. He has been dwarfed a it by Freddy and Goat this season but personally I would say he is the 3rd best striker we have had since we were relagated to the bottom flight.

DtS

I'd rather play for a mid-table league 1 side than an SPL side. Apart from Rangers, celtic and possibly Hearts, all the other temas are frankly boring and its pretty much predictable whos gonna finish 1st 2nd and 3rd.

Wrongun's post mentioned Falkirk, this one says Motherwell.
As Wrongun said he got it from the Horses mouth (so to speak) I would say its Falkirk who are offering.

I would still prefer him to stay, I wonder how much of this is agent pressure

Can't agree, that would put him above Martin Carruthers and Kevin Rapley (albeit he was only a 3-month loan signing but what an impression he made down here!).

For me I gotta say I hope Wayne does go (though I wish him all the best) as it'll free up another place in the squad for us to hopefully sign a striker good enough for the Championship, whether that be a Premiership loanee or someone on a permanent contract.

I would prefer to see him stay, and agree with Firestorm that there is likely agent pressure here. Can't quite see what the lure of Brighton would be, but can see that playing at Parkhead, Ibrox & Tynecastle could be a lure.

1) Eastwood
2) Constantine
3) Carruthers

I think Gray would be in the top 5, but his apparant lack of appetite when he lost his place in the side during the run-in really left a sour taste for me...

Bit harsh. When he came on a sub in the last two homes games I thought he looked really up for it.
Shame to see him go, I would have liked him, Bentley and Jupp all to try at least a season in the Championship, but to be fair to the players, they have to sort out the best deal for themselves and their families.
Best of luck to all of them.

Well, if Limey's like you, myself, Mike, Zulu etc. can bear the heat, I'm sure he can bear the chills.

Besides, the way footballers gear themselves up in the winter months nowadays, I'm sure he can trot out in a Motherwell parker, complete with a snorkel hood etc.

Was in Brasilia around this time of the year a couple of years back and it's nice and warm there too... just a bit of a souless place with very odd architecture.

Salvador on the other hand... what a place.

I am yet to venture North but it will happen soon with a possible trip to Natal or Fortalaza with the other half unfortunately.

Constantine was alot better than Gray! but more to the point, yes he is a good striker and should stay but I cant see him getting many games.
