Wake up!

Dear Mr Mcscriven, (and anybody with the same mentality)

i have trawled through many a thread on here regarding the services of the club we all so dearly love.. i have found one common trend throught out all of them!
and it is you.. all you do is support the club and it seems you see everything through rose tinted lenses, when will you wake up and realise our club is very shabbily run!
i felt i had to say this as nobody else seems to have..

the catering is better on a pig farm,
the stewards havent got a clue.. and ticketing online is awful!
what is going to happen? when are things going to change? we are becoming a bigger club now.. and we still seem to be stuck in old division 4 days..

as you have seemed to take on the role of the club's official sposkesman, what is the answer?

Funnily enough the Stewarding, Catering and Online ticketting was of comparable standard to today in 1991/2 when we were in what is now the Championship and I would say , a bigger club than we are now.

Scriv is the Media manager, I would suggest that you send an email to Ron Martin, or Geoff King detailing your specific complaints, maybe putting a few alternative suggestions in there as well. What would really swing it, would be a cost - benefit analysis as well just to show that your points are well researched and not just some random rantings.

Then post their response on here.

I rather think that you are missing the point, although i am fairly new to ShrimperZone this is purely a forum for all things Southend United.

Therefore if you have any problems with how the club is run these should be addressed to the club not a forum.

It is possible that many the things you have said are true, and they can be discussed within this forum, but to address them to an individual in ShrimperZone seems rather pointless.

Furthermore there are i am sure many of us here who have watched and supported the Blues through many years of trials and tribulations and false dawns. More years of thin, thin and even bloody thinner. And i am sure that most of us are more cynical than to look through rose tinted spectacles.

Well i complained about lack of season tickets this week, and i received a prompt and courteous response. Not only that i also got my tickets.

If you don't try - then you will not get.

Rather than making your points on here, write or email to the club, then if you do not receive a response then come back on here with what they have said or otherwise.

If you have a complaint about the club, contact Geoffrey King who will take the time to analyse your complaint and respond.

As for McScriven, it wouldn't surprise me if he had gone into lurking mode only on this board, after ,IMHO, the unnecessary flak that he has been getting on here recently!

Scriv is Media Manager or whatever so he looks after the Media side of the club. Therefore the programme (Which is 100x better than it used to be) the website ( which is a lot better) podcasts ( Superb addition ) and general media coverage I guess - Again all fine.

I dont think he can be blammed for ticketing problems,catering gaffs or even Che Wilsons haircut.

Im not here to lick anyones arse but let a bloke do his job and moan at relevant people ( geoffrey king , brian deer etc etc) if you not happy with theres.

Couldn't agree with that more. Scriv has done a super job with the website, the programme etc, which is what he ought to be judged upon.

Do you really expect Scriv to not stand up for his employer also CS J? Then again, from reading some of your "pearls" of wisdom on here, all you seem to want to do is rub people up the wrong way and cause controversy.

...but the football is fantastic, and thats what i go for!

How come the club keeps becomin ghte 1st in the football league to do this and that, if it is so poor?

You can find faults in any business as controversial as a football club, because at the end of the day thats what it is, you will be able to poke holes in any football club, if yo want to find faults that is.

Give the club a break

Seems to me, theres only one person 'giving it' from behind thier computer screen!
