Dont start me off on the one again!!! :finger:

I have us in 12th with 62 points.

Top 6:
Pld Pts
Swansea 46 93
Doncaster 46 79
Forest 46 78
Huddersfield 46 75
Carlisle 46 72
Oldham 46 71

Down
Gills, Bournemouth, Port Vale and Luton in that order

I had Walsall dropping right down to 17th.

had us 7th with 71 points
swansea and forest 1st and 2nd
doncaster carlisle oldham and tranmere p/offs
gillingham, luton, port vale and bournemoutn relegated

Far to early for this, but

Swansea 95
Forest 85
Carlisle 82
Doncaster 81
Walsall 76
Tranmere 72 +11
Southend 72 +9
Leeds 71

Port Vale, Luton, Bournmouth and Crewe for the drop.

From this it's clear we need to be in a stong position asap as we have carlisle and tranmere away in the last three games!

STORY OF MY RUN IN

APRIL 5
We don't break into the play offs until now when we win at Crewe and Orient (of all teams) do us a favour by holding Leeds to a 1-1 draw.

Leeds, Walsall, Orient and Huddersfield are in the chasing pack.

Swansea are crowned champions on the same day when Doncaster are held at Huddersfield and Swansea comfortably see off Bournemouth.

The promotion battle is straight between Donny and Carlisle after Forest fail to string a good enough run together to claw their way back.

The relegation struggle has seen five teams cut adrift with Port Vale long since relegated and Bournemouth about to follow them.

Luton are holding on, four points behind Crewe and Cheltenham, Bristol Rovers are a further nine points up the table.

APRIL 12
We see off Northampton at Roots Hall thanks to Lee Barnard's brace and even move up to fifth as Tranmere lose at home to Forest.

We now have a four point cushion as Leeds and Orient drop points.

Walsall are our main challengers, four points behind with a game in hand, after winning at Cheltenham.

Cheltenham's loss, coupled with Crewe's defeat at Yeovil means Luton's point at home to Brighton moves them closer to safety.

Bournemouth are all but relegated after drawing with Bristol Rovers.

Donny had beaten Swindon the night before so Carlisle really needed a victory at Elland Road to close the four point gap but ony manage a point and are now three behind with three to play.

APRIL 15
Walsall win their game in hand at home to Bristol Rovers to move within one point of us and Tranmere.

APRIL 19
A disastrous defeat at promotion chasing Carlisle sees us drop back out the play-off places after Tranmere pick up a point at Huddersfield and Walsall see off Bournemouth - which relegates the latter.

Leeds in at Milwall to keep in the race.

Despite Carlisle's win, Doncaster also record a victory, at Orient, to stay three points clear in second.

The massive game at the bottom between Crewe and Cheltenham gos in favour of the home side, leaving Cheltenham and Luton in precarious positions.

APRIL 26
We draw at Tranmere to keep our ever slimming hopes of making the play offs alive.

Huddersfield do us a massive favour by beating Walsall.

Doncaster are promoted while Carlisle and Forest have long secured their play off spots.

Luton are relegated after defeat at Doncaster.

MAY 3
Crewe stay up despite their loss, Cheltenham were beaten at home to Doncaster.

Northampton's excellent home record helps us as they take a point from their match with Tranmere but Walsall's win over Hartlepool means we needed victory to progress to the play offs.

We, in typical fashion, give Port Vale a first half lead but we fight back after half time and win the game 2-1 to finish sixth - one point ahead of tranmere.

We therefore go on to meet Carlisle in the play offs with a potential wembley final v forest or walsall.

We therefore go on to meet Carlisle in the play offs

Hope springs eternal, would love to see 000s of Shrimpers descend on Carlisle en masse! :p

Obviously if you were one of the 48 who went & supported the youth-team a few weeks ago, Uncle Ron pays for your playoff semi ticket & assoicated expenses :p

I had Swansea and Forest in 1st and 2nd, then Donny, Carlisle, Oldham and Brizzle in the p/offs. We were 8th on the same points as Leeds but with worse GD. Bournemouth bottom, then PVale, Cheltenham and Luton, with Crewe just escaping, but these 5 about 6 points adrift.

Entering those results brought home both how close we are to the end of another season, but also how many opportunities there are for us to advance into the play-offs.

For what it's worth I had us making the Play-Offs in 5th place by the skin of our teeth due to a decent 2-0 win in the last match. We pip Bristol Rovers (6th due to 1goal) and Tranmere (7th by one further goal) to the post on the last day; I'd better get the tranquilisers now. :)

Interestingly I saw Donny taking the title by a point from Swansea, then Carlisle, Forest, Us, and Rovers. Which, given our form against the top clubs, would be a hard challenge for us with Forest being favourites to emerge with the 3rd promotion place.

At the other end of the table I wasn't too surprised to see Luton and Bournemouth down there with Port Vale and Cheltenham the other two for the drop.

A complete waste of 20 minutes I suppose but I entered realistic results for every fixture (including some losses for us against the higher-placed clubs), and was actually surprised to see us that high up the league at the end of it all.

Now all I've got to do is find the 6 lucky numbers for Saturday's lottery draw and I'll feel even happier.

UTB

BTW: Leeds finished just above mid-table with 65points (the 80 points they would have had if they hadn't cheated would have seem them comfortably in the play-offs).

What about the losses for us against the lower placed clubs:(
