Vormezeele war graves

RobM

55 years as a supporter!⭐
My grandfather met an untimely end in Flanders in 1917. I'm going to visit his grave on the anniversary of his death (99th). Has anyone here been and if so, how did you find the experience?

(Checks spelling.. Voormezeele, near Ypres.

Good for you. I have never been but I know in speaking to the adults who accompanied the y6 children from school on residential trips to the area which included similar visits, that they - and the children for that matter - found it a very moving experience.

It's a very moving experience but worth every moment your there, well worth taking guided tour(local company)it may give you a perspective of what your GF and his muckers went through, don't miss the Last Post ceremony at Ypres(Wipers to the Tommies),take plenty of tissues.
