When did we wear this kit ?
I am sure it was not at home, and probably was not in a competitive fixture.

I doubt if its a keepers shirt, due to the No 5 on this pic

I don't remember ever seeing that shirt worn in a game! If it's a goalie top perhaps it based on Peter Schmeichel's theory that bright, garish colours put off strikers when they are through on goal

I wore the infamous custard splat shirt one evening in the EFI at BLMF in Banja Luka, Bosnia-Hercegovina just after Christmas 2005. Needless to say, I was ridiculed for much of the night until some young lad walked up to me, shook my hand and said that I should be proud to wear the shirt of Southend United as he was also a Shrimper; I've never seen or heard from him since. There was a picture of me on the Shrimpers Trust website before it was updated.
