Just knew the day was going to be bad when we had to hand over two of our three cards. Nice to see programme price is the same again this season was expecting it to be at least 50p more, not sure if it is as good as last seasons though.

Bit surprised at the selection up front, would have put Bradbury with Hooper think we need a bit of experience and a 'young' head. Hooper will be one to watch this season. What the game showed was we need to get two new strikers (one who can run), never mind about the defence. If we had kept the ball down and played it fast we could have done more damage, Orient were having a problem keeping up when we did this. This clearly showed when Gilbert at least twice in the second half latched on to balls that nobody else thought we could get, (yes I know the second one he should have passed to Bailey instead of trying to lob the keeper).

Enough said already on the O's player (you know who that is), but nearly evey free kick was as a result of him acting and the Ref falling for it (nothing new on the standard of ref either).

Why bother to get Black and Mcdonald warmed up and then have them sit back down again, then bring them on when it is too late to do anything. Tilly needs to be more bolder/brave in this area.

Gower looked like he was not fit to play, was he carrying an injury perhaps. Time for Collis to be given a run in the team (yes I know I'll probably shouted down for this) Flavs does not command his area and if he is going to fist the ball away stop giving to the oppostion. Thought a couple of times in the first half when Gower was up field and Flavs had the ball he was a bit slow in getting it out.

Anyway I'll be at the Hall Tuesday, question is how many others will be?

lack of bottle when it comes to making subs affects us. other teams make subs that change the game. this is not something we have had for a very long time.

a super sub would be great to have.

Very fair comments, Prittlewellblue. I thought that we were disappointing overall yesterday and whilst there may be much more to come from our strikers I am fearful that we are going to need a quick and proven striker to unlock the potential the others have if we are to be promotion contenders this season. That said, it is early days!

I am sure that other threads have covered or are covering Macca's dismissal but it is not good enough for people to say that it is his style of play that leads to bookings. The fact of the matter is that he talked himself into the referee's book in the first half which then made him vulnerable to the second yellow and a sending off. This is not good enough- he has to learn the discipline necessary to pick himself up, get on with things without reacting and not disadvantage the team.

As for omens, well we don't seem to do well if we win our first match do we?
