VAT on transfers

An English club buys an English player from another English club... surely this transaction incurs VAT?? Is this then included as part of the transfer fee we hear about, or added on top of it??

If so The VAT on Rooney (@ £27mil) could have been £4,725,000!

How much would the VAT be on you though Dave?

I would have thought the final figure would include VAT, if VAT is applicable.

wasn't JCR 100k + vat to make up the 117k we were said to owe Rotherham ?
(+ 20k + vat as the fee for the loan to make up the 140k we heard about as well)

Plus think of a number, add six, then add a zero. Then bleat to the national media, add the number of articles from said bleating, add the number of posts made by that Oldham **** slating us. And Hey Presto! this is what Southend owe us, and if they don't pay we will go out of business.
