Use the PA to generate atmosphere...

The increased use of sound via the PA to create atmosphere would be well worth a go - why not try the following...

Opposing team arrive on pitch
good play by southend
good shot on target

play "we will,we will rock you" x 3

Southend doing well - play "aint no stopping us now"

Southend concede - play "I get knocked down but i get up again - never gonna keep us down etc x 3"

After a good hard tackle "these boots were made for walking and thats just what they'll do..one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you"

opposing player gets mouthy with ref "whats the matter you -hey, gotta no respect, what do you think you do hey, why you looks so sad, its a not so bad , its a nice place..ah shaddup ya face - just imagine the whole of roots hall joining in with that last line - awesome

You only play the short clip of the song od course - not the whole thing!

Wow home matches would be great fun, the kids would love it, amusing for the adults, a great atmosphere.

There are so many soundbites you could play, post them here if you agree - can anyone get the club to trial it?

Heard this done at a basketball game once, it was amazing, what an atmosphere and loads of return customers- why - because they had fun -simple really

Of course Hey baby for when we score!!! And all the usual songs in-between.

I agree, sounds great fun and wuld definitly get the atmosphere goin, as long as they sort out the PA system in the east stand cos its still poor quality!

Basketball games generate a good atmosphere due to the music and PA however that is literally a end to end game, i think RM got it right, a good catchy song, a few people to get it started (the stomping etc) and ok Jeffa being a bit less cheesy and try to generate a proper atmosphere.

Agreed - I'd like to see that happen. The kids would like it too. Not sure about the moaning old gits though - but then, they never like anything so their opinions are somewhat devalued since we cant ever seem to please some people! (and its always the same ones...)

i think this is a no goer, as far as im aware clubs are not allowed to use their PA system to gee up the fans. I also remember there being a complaint about it a few years ago in a Wales match/

Think I remember that, was it against Turkey? I seem to remember the PA being told to shut up by officials by the second half.

Think it was because they were doing it during play though, as opposed to when the ball was dead

Also York used the PA to help increase atmosphere by putting fake cheers over the tannoy.
