Update to iPhone OS 4.0.1

I've just put the OS update on my 3GS iPhone.
Anything I need to be wary about? I always tend to wait a few weeks after Apple release these updates having been burned by an unstable iTunes one a few years back.

I also cannot stand the new default wallpaper, anybody know of a good (free) app where I can get the old OS3 plain black screen from?

had no problems with 4.0.1 but that's on my iPhone 4. Not sure about the wallpaper

Had no problems with it on my 3GS, and since the upgrade to iOS 4 my wallpaper has been my son. I am sure on the older version he only appeared whilst the phone was in locked mode

I have had big problems with the upgarde although I believe I am in the minority.

after upgarde, none of my apps work except the ones made by apple and I have none of the new features. I know I am on is04 as on the itunes it says so and it wont let me upgrade again. I am taking my phone in to a the I-geeks or whatever they call themselves as soon as I get the time.

If you take a photo of something, then go to the photo, then touch the bottom left icon with the arrow and tap set as wallpaper.
If you want plain black just take a picture in a really dark room.
Alternatively, get a black screen on your phone and press the top right button and the round bottom button at the same time which will take a screenshot. Then use this.
