Up front tomorrow night

coventryshrimper

Youth Team
Gotta play Ginge tomorrow.

With a midfield of Mitch, Macca, Clarke and JCR, our only hope is to play Harrold and hoof it up there bypassing midfield.

Sorry if I seem negative, i'm still trying to control my anger.

Still, like others have said - it's a good chance for players to get stuck in and pull together. I hope Mitch does well, I really do.

should not played clarke, give the 2 new bois a go in mid along wiv cole and jcr. feddy and matty up front. sodje francis hammel and barrett in defence

come on bois pls bring home 3 points, for the fans

Despite the fact Maher will be suspended?!

I'm sorry, but there's not a cat in hell's chance he'll win the appeal IMO

He'll be a sub at most for us
But isn't Tilly's loan mantra "better than we've already got"? To be in this category surely you've got to be good enough whether you've played or not. If Riera isn't match fit & could take (say) 2 months to get match fit, how can he be "better" if he can't get off the bench either, when we have missing players.

We really can't afford another "well he might be fit enough by Christmas" scenario.

I was all for Harrold a while a go, but on recent performances  I think he's pony- no goal threat, little ability and doesn't even work hard. I honestly think Paynter Man is a much better player. Still, what kind of game would it be without opinions? I would be interested to read what other fans of Shrimperzone think about my slating of Harrold. Am I spot on or not giving him enough time to settle? Or is it Eastwood's fault? Not many premiership clubs would have been impressed with his recent contributions. Maybe the service from JCR to the 'front two' is to blame? Does our midfield lack 'bite' now Gutts has left for the takeaway chicken shops of the East End? Perhaps you think Rob Newman should never have been sacked? It's a funny old game and that is why we all love football internet messageboards.

Come on Southend lets beat these dour Yorkshire ferret lovers.

Interesting comments N'Zamba, it amazes me that some fans say Harrold is young and one for the future, yet slate Paynter who is the same age!. I remember when Drewe was here and was slaughtered by many fans week in week out, and when he missed the one on one with the scarboro keeper in the cup home game ( which would have seen us play chelski in the 4th round) everyone wanted to string him up. Lo and behold within 2 months he becomes a cult here for getting us to cardiff at C** U's expense!.

When will the appeal be heard ??
Cos Maher will be able to play until then

I reckon we could go with the same starting XI as Saturday except Cole for Gower, as someone said yesterday its time for Cole to come through and show us what he can do now or never. Don't forget we were pretty comfortable until the double sending off

2-0 Eastwood / Bradbury ... or is that just wishful thinking ??

Personally I thought Ginge put himself about ok on Sat, but like you say it's all about opinions.  He's more mobile than Paynter, will win more in the air and I thought laid the ball off quite nicely on occasions.

But he's not a big target man like Iwelumo and that, for me was an obvious difference on Sat.  Cull Ewe pumped the ball into Iwelumo and all Cureton did was to wait behind him for the knockdown or lay off.  Fredy doesn't play like that so even if Ginge did hold a ball he often had no-one behind him.

Paynter IMO is simply not big enough to play the Iwelumo role or quick enough to play another role AT THIS LEVEL.  I've said it before, and will repeat it before the "oh leave him alone" bit starts, he's not a bad player but just out of his depth.  As for next season he may be fine for us the way we're heading at the moment.

Is Gower not available for tonight then? I thought his suspension was scheduled for Saturday?

Cheers for the info (RE:Appeal)

Everytime i try to access the OS it crashes

Here's hoping justice is done... though i can't see it somehow, there'll probably call it frivolous again and extend it to 4 games

I thought Harrold did well on saturday, the problem is how many good balls did we put into the box? Hardly any, the same as in recent games. Id liek to see Hammell and Francis overlap more, they seem to have stopped doing that. Harrold has shown if you put good balls into the box he will get goals. The amount of good positions JCR got into and faffed about, it must be very frustrating for Matt.

Assuming the Col******r Two are banned I would go as follows

FLAVS

FRANCIS SODJE PRIOR HAMMELL

JCR MACCA REIRA COLEY

HOOPER FREDDY

BENCH - BARRETT, HARROLD , LAWSON , CLARKE , DAD OF DtS.

Everyone in their correct posistions and I have dropped Matty Harrold as I too have not been impressed by him the last few games. Does not work hard enough and dosent win enough headers for a so called targert man.

Given Barnsley's recent torrid form and the recent sale of McIndoe, I'd have been hoping for a win. With suspensions, I just can't imagine how we're going to create anything.

0-0 seems all we can hope for unless Freddy magics something out of nothing.

Yeah I'd go for something like that. Only thing I'd change is start with Bradders rather than Hooper, drop him to the bench and Dad of DtS to the stands, where we rightfully belongs!
