Unluckiest player to be released ...

Following on many topic themes on players who do you think are the unluckiest players to be released by the club and perhaps fall out of the game, I am not talking about players like MacDonald and Hooper who are still plying their trades in the league.

My first is Danny Gaye, thought he had the making of a decent stopper, but has gone into freefall

My second is Reggie Coulbaut, honestly thought he was showing signs of being a very addition to the team, but then released in 1998 and never surfaced again ( Though many will argue thank god )

My third Alex Burns, went back to Scotland after starting to hit form ( Though not too sure if he was released or was homesick)

I'm not sure of the exact circumstances of all of them but I was disappointed when they following left:

Lapper
Coulbert
Cole
Forbes
Gay

Thinking on Damon Searle seemed to drift out very quickly and ended doing the rounds in non league, liked the suggestion Neil Jenkins, allways rated him and completely forgot him

He came to my school, SHSB, one lunchtime to chat to us all about being a football player. He seemed a really genuine, nice bloke. Apparently was a regular at the Baptist church accross the road from Shoebury school. Hope he is still doing well!

He went to Columbus after leaving us, and as far as I know he's still there in a coaching capacity.

EDIT: Here he is. Seems like he's doing well, if you overlook the dodgy side-parting.

Always liked Steven Broad , went from being Chelsea's reserve captain to non league way to quick, thought he was a classy defender and would of looked even better with decent players around him .
