Team Eggheads
I went to see our Under 18's team play Portsmouth this morning, as they were only a couple of miles away from where I live. I have to say I was quite impressed with them. They won 1-0, and looked to have a few half-decent players. On the whole they were solid and well-organised in defence, catching the Pompey players offside regularly and winning a lot of the balls in the air. I was also impressed with the strikers - Steffan Gaisie got better as the game wore on and Charles Ademeno looked strong and a decent threat. He came off after about an hour, to be replaced by James Lindie, who looked very pacey, constantly outrunning the Portsmouth defence and who scored the only goal of the game, taking his chance very well.
I know Ademeno has already made the first team subs bench, but should we have problems with our strikeforce in the run-in with injuries and suspensions, could these two not be possible short-term solutions? It's a huge step-up I know from Youth level to the top of League 1, but if Lawson can (almost) make it, why not Ademeno and Lindie?
