If any SZ members still haven't made arrangements for travel to Wembley TravelZone have a few seats at selected stops available.

Final closing of the lists will be at 8pm tomorrow ( Thursday ).

Please PM me if you want to book to take advantage of the free drinks, food and friendly travel. (Please note the travel isn't free  )

Just to let any of you know that are not aware, after the game, you could be stuck on Wembley Way for well over an Hour just queuing to get into the Train station, unless you are in the first few hundred to reach it. So if we win, you may as well stay and enjoy the celebrations, rather than be stuck on Wembley Way.

Never been caught on wembley way for England games and thats with full houses. So wouldnt worry about it.

Some years ago, after an England game, it took us two hours to get out of our parking space! :'(

Lesson learnt, have never taken a car anywhere near Wembley since. :winking:

The police have been trying this new system, and I've been stuck there twice in the last Year. Can only go on my experience. It may be down to health and safety, with only so many allowed on the train platform at One time.

Hi, just sent pm so will wait for reply. I too have had long waits to get on the underground in the past, but that was a full house Wembley.

At large events TfL and the BTP always have a plan in place to manage crowds onto the platforms, part of this will be holding queues at the station entrances and allowing a fixed number of passengers onto the platform for each train. It is pretty standard procedure and isn't limited to Wembley, regularly used at Notting Hill for the Carnival and I've also experienced it at the Oval after Test matches and the Aussie Rules matches.

If there are delays caused getting to the trains by the numbers then just all be patient, you will get away as soon as TfL and BTP can get you away, they don't want loads of people milling around; bear in mind that large crowds on station platforms and very heavy, fast moving items, i.e. trains, do have a potential for serious consequences, and it won't be the very heavy, fast moving item that comes off worst.....

Has anyone seen that there's a CBeebies thing on at the arena. No idea when it starts or ends but that could be an extra 25,000 parents & ankle biters after trains.

Edit: Two shows, starting at 11am and 2pm, so could be a bit of a scramble. :stunned:

Trust coach final total looks like being 29, of which 2 are the 80 seater (double decker) type. I'd guess collectively that we have the largest number of coaches going from this area than for any other event EVER - with TZ's ones, Mariner's Court's and the open top one from Grays way, plus one or two others that I've heard of, the coach companies must be rubbing their hands in glee!

Southend took 52 coaches to Everton in 1992 and quite a few to Sheffield Weds in 1993 but I can't remember the exact number for that match.

Nope it was much more than 29 not sure where that figure came from. I can remember someone going along counting all the coaches where they were parked up.
The guy that organised that then (Simon [Eastwood?] - United for Southend) came into the shop and spoke about it with the Trust coach bookers. They took 30 coaches, one being a spare in case of any breakdown.

Backed up by Lord Football earlier in the thread too.
