UK bands best per country

Firestorm

Pedant
England -The Clash
Wales - The Alarm
NI - Stiff little Fingers or The Undertones (I really can't make my mind up on this one)
Scotland - Simple Minds

England - The Beatles
Welsh - Manic Street Preachers (if it has to be a band; if not, Tom Jones)
NI - Snow Patrol
Scotland - Simple Minds is a jolly good shout. If not them, then I'll have a bit of Del Amitri.

If I found an iPod on the train and it was owned by any of the previous posters (AS excluded) I would definitely hand it in to lost property!

And technically they are thought of as Scottish seeing as most of their albums are recorded in Glasgow, they all now live between London & Glasgow blah blah blah.

Know what you mean about them being dreary though! Basically jumped on the Chris Martin blandness regime.
Bland = non-offensive = championed by Jo Whiley = muchos cash!

England = Pulp
Scotland = Travis (if I was aiming for credible I'd say Belle & Sebastian or Mogwai but Franny and the boys are special to me & the Mrs)
Wales = Super Furry Animals
Ireland = The Undertones

England - Mike Flowers Pops
Wales - Shakin Stevens
N. Ireland - Jive Bunny
Scotland - Hue and Cry

then;
England - The Beatles
Scotland - Incredible String Band
Wales - Heather Jones
N.Ireland - Van Morrison

now;
England - The Clientele
Scotland - Boards of Canada
Wales - Super Furry Animals
N.Ireland - David Holmes

Now performing as Colin McIntyre.
He dropped the MHS tag for some reason or other.
And the recipient of my 'dullest live band ever witnessed' award. OK, so they were supporting The Strokes on their first ever UK tour so nobody was going to come off the same stage looking very good but my God, MHS were f%cking dire.

England: The Smiths
Scotland: Belle and Sebastian
Wales: Manic Street Preachers (before Richie threw himself over a bridge)
Northern Ireland: Ash
