Impending doom for Southend

At first look on this story, I thought that they were actually going to create an absolutely massive wetland in Essex. I was wondering what local residents would think of this and then looking at the map realised that the whole of Southend is in the shaded area!

AHHHHHHHH!!!! The end is nigh!!

Except, of course, the shaded area is Essex and not the proposed wetland....
