TFL have just kindly advised me about services over this weekend on the Hammersmith and City Line: "No service between Hammersmith and Edgware Road due to track replacement and White City redevelopment work."
There is a replacement bus service but, from Liverpool Street, get the Central line. White City is a bit closer to the ground than Shepherds Bush but doesn't have much in the way of decent pubs or other outlets.
