Well, I have read the article. Half of the paragraph on Southend is taken up with criticism of Brown and to some extent that mirrors the views of many fans. The last 10 games of last season were a difficult time.

The description of the team is about right though.

And that is all good to me - I would rather start the season being the "underdog" than being touted as "promotion candidates". The addition of another few players could easily transform the profile of the team and in fact this could be said of any of the other 22 clubs.

Lets face it , its about right .... and there are many other clubs also " looking over their shoulders" so we are in that clutch of clubs who will probably struggle to get above the lower-mid table areas ..... We have to appreciate our finances and the transition the club is going through and manage our expectations accordingly.

That doesnt mean that we cant all go along + support the club week in week out. We should just not assume we are going to win every game.
Some of my fondest memories go way back to the days under Peter Morris + Bobby Moore ... we were a terrible team with low crowds but i remember having a great laugh with my mates going to those games , the banter was brilliant ( although in those days the banter was usually aimed at the opposition players rather than our own players , unlike some of todays barbaric fanbase abuse )

Of course i'd love to have the best team in the league and score goals a plenty every week , but it aint gonna happen this season. We'll have some bad games along with some great games.... but the whole point of supporting a football club is to SUPPORT your club + ENJOY doing it.

Football clubs need to get their houses in order otherwise they will go out of business for ever. Lets not put too much pressure on our club to spend way too much on overpaid players at the risk of our club going under.

If we have an average season by playing 6 youth team players then so be it ... get behind these kids + they will grow stronger for next season + we will all get the benefit. We all applaud Crewe's idiology ... lets support the club if thats the route we are going down. Sometimes you have to take a small step back before you sprint forward !!!! UTB :loyalsupporter:
