tsunami

Tsunami. 3ft.

Media hype anyone?

I don't think so. An effective early warning system which if it was in place a few years ago would have saved many lifes.

They can't possibly say with 100% accuracy that it WILL be a Tsunami but can say "there may be a chance of one" so people can take the appropriate measures.

Over on the eastern side got the warnings, although it had lost it's power by the time it got here. There were warnings to stay away from the coast from the night before.

Means I couldn't go to the beach for a swim and a surf this morning which is a bit of a bugger...have to wait a whole week till next weekend now ;)

If you want to swim get to Westborough Road , the amount of rain overnight it must be under water.

We've got our fair share here at the moment, don't worry about that! Still, it's bringing the temperature down so not complaining (leave that to you whinging Poms!).

I was on Fraser in 2007 when there was a similar alert after an earthquake - not sure where exactly. We woud've been in some serious **** had it hit with any force.
