Question Transfer window to be extended ?

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but does anyone know if the transfer window may be extended in view of the freeze up ? Has this ever happened before ?

I don't know about the transfer window, but they are talking of extending the season if this weather continues.

Thought FIFA had decreed that all European leagues had to be finished by 9th of May in view of the World Cup, or is that only the top divisions?

Interesting but as one of the replies says unlikely as there's the small matter of the world cup coming up - not that 'pools squad are likely to feature after their inept performance down here a few weks ago.

I liked the pop at Darlo though - shame our OS can't get a few sideswipes in at the Ewes and the O's - would make more of an interesting read methinx

I think it was extended last January due to the snow.

It's been extended to Feb 1 anyway this year, seeing as Jan 31 is a Sunday.

I think it was extended last January due to the snow.

Yes, the deadline was extended last year, but only by a matter of hours, so clubs were allowed to make deals beyond the 5pm deadline if the weather had caused them problems.

That was because of bad weather on deadline day. If we're all clear of snow and ice by 1 February, then it won't be extended.

You yrying to tell me all this cannot be done via email /phone ,surely it does not have to be face to face these days . Most transfers nowadays are always completed subject to medical .

You can't do a medical via phone or email though can you.

Also, not many players will join a Club without having a look around at the stadium, training facilities etc.

I very much doubt the transfer window will be extended because of the weather we have had over the last week or so. Like someone already mentioned, it got extended last time because of the bad weather on deadline day. If that is the case again, we may get it extended but it will only be up till midnight rather that 5pm which is when it shuts on Feb 1st.

The paperwork probably, but would you move to a new town/city without seeing it and the surrounding area first?
