A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

we had youngsters who were seen as prospects for getting in a 3rd tier team. I'd like us to build around them. add the experience and toughness to that group where necessary but have them form the spine of the team that tries to get us back up.

We did and then they were sold (Kelman, Hutchinson, Humprhys, Bishop), about to depart us for better things (Bwomono) or injured (Gard).

Those remaining aren't the ones to build around. They are more complementary pieces to be fitted around a spine to flesh out the squad, not the spine.

Maybe Egbri and Clifford are two that could become first team regulars next season but apart from that the others should be integrated slowly

Yes, they could become first team regulars next season but they're not going to be the spine of the team. They are players you fit around a more experienced spine.

that's a fair point, but Gard and Phillips looked good when i've seen them. I don't know who I'd name as those players, other than Clifford and Egbri. And 2 players isn't enough to give a spine to a team anyway. So it was more a general point than saying X, Y, Z should be first team regulars

wouldnt be surprised to see Kinali get a lot of time too along with Walsh.

Andrew Dallas could be an interesting one. Scottish striker, signed for Weymouth last season on loan from Cambridge United. Scored 10 goals in 20 games for 18th placed Weymouth, which is an incredibly good return.

He’s out of contract this summer but has been offered a new deal by Cambridge and is 21 years old, so a permanent move is probably out of the question. But with Cambridge going up, I imagine he might be available on loan, unless they want to send him to a League Two club.

Southend should take a look at Danilo Orsi-Dadomo, a 6' 2" striker who has scored 17 goals in his first season at Maidenhead. I am not sure he is under contract for next year. He was signed for Maidenhead on the strong recommendation of Alan Devonshire, the club's chief scout. Devonshire described him as an extremely hard working, strong forward and a fine finisher. In particular, he seems to have combined very well this season with the former Southend winger, Barrett.

RD and CF rated him highly- I am not sure how much the previous team actually listened to RD & CF unfortunately. Rush perhaps being a case in point. The new arrangements and coaching set uo will mean the u23s have real incentive to work there nuts off and get a chance if they deserve it. Didn't RD say that Kinali was one of the most dedicated he had come across?

Maybe an unrealistic signing for us but I’d hope we’re keeping tabs on Andy Cook. Brilliant striker at league two level and below. Aramide Oteh has also been released by QPR, he could quite easily drop to the NL for a permanent move

I think you are absolutely right. I sensed that both RD and CF were frustrated that MM somehow did not rate Eren Kinali or Matt Rush. RD said publicly said Kinali was one of the most determined players he had ever worked with and had a big future in the game. Sol Campbell seemed to agree judging by the number of times he played Kinali. For younger players like Kinali and Rush, the National League may present an opportunity to really develop their playing careers.

Two players signed?

*checks date*

... but it's May! We are at least 2 months ahead of our normal schedule.

The fact they are still with clubs suggest (to me) they are in the National League and still playing matches.

Is it not that league contracts last until 1/6?
