Transfer fiasco

I am the only one who thinks that the club stuffed up big time with this transfer window. Yes we made cheeky bids on two players , but why leave it until the final day when we so obviously need players. Aggogo is a 200k player and Jamal campbell ryce is worth atleast the same. So why bid on the final day and leave no time for negotiation. Why not bid two days ago. Now we are left with about 14 players to choose from. It is nice to see the type of the players the club are hoping to sign , but lets not do a spurs and nearly sign. Lets sort things out properly and get our targets in.

100% agree! - its time to lay off the kiss arse to the club bit! and get our views across, lets just hope Tilly can get sombody in on loan! and maybe with a view to a permant view if we get a gooden!

Well we have been tracking them since the summer and had agreed a fee with Rotherham and agreed personal terms with Jamal Campbell-Ryce only for Rotherham to demand more money. Since then we upped our bid to the £100k they wanted in the summer, and yet again they have demanded more. Not really our fault.

Same with Agogo, been tracking him since the summer and have enquired on numerous occasions but the Club were after £300k for him, when his contract expires next season, so we played the waiting game and bidding for him on the tuesday and was told they wanted £300k still, then we tried again on deadline day and they still wanted the same. Tilson decided he try his luck with both in january when, as long as Agogo hasn't signed a new deal, we can talk to him and his agent over a possible free transfer move in the summer and sign a pre-contract agreement. Also, with a bit of luck, Rotherham would have lowered their asking price for the unsettled Jamal Campbell-Ryce.

No he isn't. He's got one year left on his contract, and unless The Gas go up (and with Tw@tkins at the helm I'd say that's highly unlikely), he will walk out of there next summer on a Bosman.

That makes him most assuredly not a 200K player.

If The Gas and the Blues are midtable at Christmas, I'd expect us to be well fancied to pick him up for 50K in the January window.

I don't know enough about Campbell-Ryce to know whether he's worth that amount; but again, 200K is a lot for a player at our level.

And to think if we made those 2 signings we would of had one of the best strike forces/midfields in league one. Top 6 would have been a realistic target!!

I take it you've seen Campbell-Ryce play a certain number of games to have decided his worth £200k. I've seen him play occassionly and he would have been a decent signing, small, pacey and trickey and likes to beat his man but I wouldn't have said his worth £200k.

How do you know it was left until the last day. I find that very unlikely given the need to get the player to Roots Hall to agree terms, have a medical and sign. My guess is that the bids were put in a good week ago, if not before.

How do we know otherwise? as per usual the club have yet to post any official message. The truth is you dont get aggogo and Campbell ryce for 175k both are class players. Looking on the millers site it would seem that they rate him at atleast 300k. Admittedly i have only seen him play twice, but both times he just tore people to shreds. As for aggogo no words are needed he is class.

TB - no one is kissing arse here. Least of all me for crying out loud. It's just that at the moment I'm very much in the 'Crisis, what crisis ?' camp.

As I've suggested many times in recent history before, have those that feel aggrieved tried to contact the club directly ? I've found that if you treat the club with politeness and ask sensible, structured questions you tend (note the word tend) to get sensible answers. That's not ******* up to the club that's called appropriate conduct.

If you have and have been brushed off then you have every right to feel upset. If you are airing your grievances on here expecting official answers via the Club site then I'm afraid I have little sympathy.

Not expecting anything official because of this post, but if we loose a couple of players injured on sunday then we have had it. We will struggle to get anybody in and will have to go through the f.a. Why did the club not get a couple of prem kids in on loan to make up the numbers. We NEED these players in to last the season. I dont think its unreasonable to expect the club to explain themselves when its us paying out £16.50-£18 a game.

In answer to the post, 12th, even with this pitiful strikeforce and with a 'starman' who's been indifferent at best.

Fiasco, what Fiasco? Over and over and over, Tilly and RM have stated that they won't sign payers unless they are completely right for this football club. That's what they are doing and I'm not kissing the club's arse if I agree with the transfer policy.
