Transfer activity continuing...

With many League 2 clubs still trading on the transfer market, I think Southend United will have a distinct advantage in having an already settled squad when the pre-seasons finish and the new season starts on 7th August 2004.

The Official site has listed the League 2 Roundup which features most of the clubs in our division for the forthcoming campaign.

The only downside, is the injuries we already have... but it is still looking good.

Yeah, I more or less agree with you. New signings at clubs do need time to gel and we do have a more settled squad than we did this time last year.

Having said that, some of the signings other League Two (still can't get used to calling it that!) clubs have made do impress me - most notably Tommy Mooney at Oxford. Bristol Rovers have brought in some good names too and Cheltenham have signed JJ Melligan, which doesn't bode well for the first game in August as he's a right pain in the arse and often scores against us...

But still, I'm confident Tilly and Brush are the right men to lead us and I think top ten, with an outside chance of the play-offs, is a realistic target.

Yeah I'm over the moon that we're not indulging in all this signing good players business. I'm much happier sticking to the dross we've got.

17th place here we come, Woooo!

Our current crop are dross

?

Have i missed something ? LSD in the soup

We could buy the best players in the world well you know what I mean, but if they don't gel and work together well what chance do we have? I can't see what players we do need now and what quality players we are likely to get. We have got good enough players to get us out of this legaue IMHO and we just need to want the wins.

You're back then. Great.
I never fail to be amazed at the warmth and friendliness of my fellow SZ posters. Especially you, Steve.

I won't.

Yes thanks. Lots of sunshine, sightseeing and shopping... and I drove around for a week like a total poser in a Ford Mustang Convertible. Loved it.
