Training Ground Report

Dreams

Coach
Just had call from OlvisIII who has been at Boots and Laces this morning and watched for a bit. He reports that the keepers were training separately as were the youths.

He said that 18 players/first team were training not including Wayne Gray or the Goat apparently. He said he didn't think any of them were youth teamers and that there was a tall dark guy with blond hair??? Obviously don't read much into this but it could mean possibly we have got some loanees in!!

Both Tilly and Brush were there so not in transfer agreements this morning!!

dennis rodman!!!

Like I say, he was only watching so it could be nothing but considering our squad is very small and Wayne and the Goat weren't present, could possibly mean some new faces!! Like you say, watch this space........

I read in the programme that the club were expecting to have signed Darren Campbell before Mondays match. That thread has gone very quiet!

Well apparently Ron is backing Tilly all the way so I reckon there could be some new players arriving at the Hall in the very near future, i.e. today!!! I wish we didn't have to leave everything until the deadline though!

its the true Southend way!

I think the biggest transfer so far has been Jenas going to Tottenham, although I'm not suprised Newcastle didn't try and stop him from leaving.

Gray is obviously still suffering with the hamstring injury he picked up and perhaps Goat has a couple of days off after a match to fully recover!?

I was reading in the match day programme about Darren Campbell, and he sounded very promising. Had trials with Manchester United and Celtic during injurying knee ligaments (I believe). Also, we still have the former Camrbidge United centre half at the Club, Steve Angus. Could he be brought in as cover as well?

His a free agent though, so could be brought in after the transfer deadline if either Eagle, Spinner or Barrett pick up knocks.

Grays have today signed Stevland Angus, a 24 year old central defender from fellow Conference National side Cambridge United.

He isn't at Southend any more

We're OK as far as centre halves go anyway, we really need some extra cover at full-back

thats finished that rumour then. I know its already been bought up but what about Jamal Campbell-Ryce? He is a very good player who could do a job for us. I know he is a winger and that is the last of ou priorities at the moment but its just a thought.
