I was going to include this on the Tune thread but I see the Gestapo have locked it...
anyway.
A new book entitled Football songs or something, one of those small coffe table books, like 100 worst towns et al.
Southends entries are the

he had ten thousand me
none of them could kick a ball
so he sold them to Southend.
It doesn't explain that this was the Alan Little dealings from York but never mind.
