Tonights refereee

Hooly

Keeper of the Lucky Gherkin⭐🦐
I know it's all subjective but he seems to be fairly unpopular on Rate the Ref and he's 44th out of the 59 referees in the National Group.

Area                 Avg Rating
Communication   2.48
Consistency       2.51
Control              2.87
Fairness            2.35
Fitness              3.20
Flow                 2.94
Positioning         2.98
Total                19.33 out of max 35

Compare this with Kevin Wright whe refereed the Northampton game who is top rated with 27.72.  Only got 19.17 in our game vs Northampton as the Cobblers fan didn't like the decision on the 2nd goal.  But I thought he was pretty decent.

Some comments on Mr Beeby
<span style='color:blue'>Brighton vs Leeds
"Another case of a referee believing he is the omnipotent one. Give him two cards and a whistle and he'll distribute them like relief aid.  This referee should be ashamed of his poor communication and even poorer judgement."

Sheffield Wednesday vs Huddersfield
"I have seen Mr Beeby in action before, and thought he was the most inept official I'd ever seen, but I am always ready to give someone another chance, and wanted him to prove that he was better than before.   Unfortunately he failed.  He has to be, by quite some way the worst referee I have seen.  Playing the advantage at totally the wrong time, and not playing it when it should."

"This is the second time I've seen Mr Beeby referee and he has to be amongst the worst referees in the country. It's not as if he seems biased but he extremely whistle happy and seems to like to interupt the play all the time."

Burnley vs Gillingham
"Both the referee and all three of his assistants were by far the worst I have ever had the mis-fortune to watch....... I hate slagging officials off but I sincerely hope it is a long, long time before these idiots come back to Burnley."
</span>

In contrast<span style='color:blue'>
Walsall vs A12 Scum
"I have to say, given Richard Beebys previous Walsall games, I was not looking forward to this match. However I have to stay that he gave a very good refereeing display.  Gone were the card waving antics of previous matches instead a quiet word in players ears sufficed although to be fair it wasn't a dirty match.  Much improved display and I hope he keeps it up."

"Superb Refereeing!  Maybe he can show some of the premiership referees a few "tricks and more importantly RULES!!!!!!"</span>

What on earth we'll get tonight who knows?

No idea, but he&#39;s got a silly name....

Last reffed us in our 4-0 win against QPR last year. TLG had this to say about him

Referee: Richard Beeby (Northampton) 4 out of 10 - Beeby gave some very bizarre decisions shall we say&#33; In the first half especially Beeby blew for some very innocouos challenges and was far from being helpled by his incompetent assistant on the West Stand side who incidentally was replaced at half time.

Doesn&#39;t sound the best

Ah!  Now I like good omens like this.  Same result please against another team in the division above us.  Don't forget QPR were flying high at the time, didn't stop us stuffing them!!

Blimey, just had a look at rate the ref for the first time, amazingly Joe Ross and Jarnail Singh are nowhere near the worst rated refs.

Yes it's remarkable isn't it!  Even Andy Hall is above Mr Beeby.

Speaking of Joe Ross did anyone post about the incident the other week with Dean Windass where Ross sent him off, I think in the tunnel, after the recent Bradford game against Luton & then had to rescind it.  In an interview shown on the Anglia soccer show, Windass explained he appealed against the sending off as Ross had spent most of the 2nd half telling him not to complain at him about decisions but spend more time sorting out his defence as they were 4-0 down!  Windass confronted him about this in the tunnel I believe, said something & was red carded.  On appeal this was overturned!  Should have lumped him one!
