Ton up for Jack Bridge

Congratulations Jack on your 100th appearance for our club 🎉

I can’t think of many who had to go through more to bring up this landmark but here you are at the other end, having been forced out of your childhood club by Phil Brown; twice being unable to sign contracts because of transfer embargoes (first the world’s longest trial which definitely wasn’t because we were under transfer embargo; and now when you’re having to play as a non-contract player); being paid late; having lumps kicked out of you most week by defenders who can’t keep up with your dazzling footwork but having to keep on suiting up each week as we’re under an embargo so are short handed; having endured Brown as manager twice(!) and Ron Martin as chairman.

You’ve stuck with us through thin and thin but now the good times are coming so hopefully when we get promoted it will taste all the sweeter for it.

Here’s to one of our own and your next 100!

Well put @Yorkshire Blue
I acknowledge that Jack can frustrate with an often delayed cross, however he always attracts opposition players in 2s, 3s or 4s and that creates space elsewhere, pulls team's shape into disarray etc. A real threat, and for sure gets roughly handled too often.
Always in starting 11 when fit.

Remember meeting jack at cliffs pov for a dinner and meet the players. He told me he wpuld never leave southend as long as he was wanted. A true blue.
Watching the Beckham doc last night when he was forced out by SAF, reminds me of this. Obviously it's far easier to say you'll never leave Man Utd than it is your local NL side, and I'm sure if an amazing opportunity came along he'd consider it, but his loyalty goes far above and beyond what we could ever hope for.

I was sat at his table a couple of seasons ago along with Dalby.
Bridge was very chatty, talked a fair bit about non football stuff but did say he loved it here and wouldn't leave unless forced to. It's his boyhood club, he's always lived in the local area
