Tommy Widdrington in Southend Hospital

ms brush

Saga Lout
Not sure if this has been posted anywhere, but it seems that Tommy Widdrington has had a couple of strokes and has been treated and is recovering in Southend Hospital.

Fingers crossed he gets well soon! He is far too young to be in stroke territory!

Tommy has said in the past that he lives in the Southend area, and that he loves to watch and support Southend United, when able to do so. Best of luck Tommy. As others have alluded to, a gentleman of the game. Even though he was let go by Southend, when assistant to Paul Sturrock, he held no grudges, and loved the area so much, he stayed.
Believe he lives in the Thorpe Bay area. At the Aldershot match earlier this year he had quite a few friends and family in the directors box as all from local area.

It always amazes me the amount of travelling lower league players and managers often do. I can't imagine that Thorpe Bay to Aldershot x times a week is a recipe for good health and the manager has to set an example for time keeping
Think you hit the nail on the head, along with abuse from supporters when things go wrong and the mental stress just adds to the pressure
Who really wants to be a manager unless a big club and pay off sets you up for life x
Get on the mend Tommy
