Fantastic achievement there. I bet those bullies who hounded him out of his old school are feeling pretty clever this morning. Berks.
 
Was at High School with Fiona Coull who, back in the mid to late 70s, was tipped as an Olympic diver. I know the amount of hard work she put in, so can only express my admiration at the commitment of this young man to achieve his goal - well done young man!
 
Just watched the highlights on the Beeb.

I'm no expert at diving but it seems that Tom did exceptionally well on his dives (no dubt there) but also got incredibly lucky on the last round. Both the Chinese guys and the Aussie botched thier last dives (after Tom did his and got to top spot). Congrats all the same but there must have been a few nails chewed on.

Also, Mr BBC Comentator, I thought you were supposed to be neutral?
 
Well done to Tom, always great to see a Brit do well at the Olympics but it's also great to see him over-come the bullying he faced, as a bully victim myself i am proud of him. I especially loved it when his Dad asked him in the press conference to give him a cuddle, great guy.
