Zone Update Today's meeting with Ron

Cricko

Guest
Personally I never saw the need for a meeting,if you know Ron as well as I do he has nothing to hide. His first statement to J was "You can ask me anything about SUFC and I will answer it honestly and with proof". In fact he had a desk full of paperwork to justify his comments and offered many of them to J to read himself.

I will start with, he is responding to Irate Ian , but did not have all facts in place to answer the questions asked until recently. He is an open man and will talk to any fan about anything regarding SUFC,(Andy Cockles I suggest you contact him).

Moving on to today's meeting, I said very little. I did not need to,as I knew most of the answers to J's questions already..As far as I saw it J had little to ask him. Ron respected him as a true fan but does not understand his animosity towards him..I did point out to J that he was to young to remember the days of Jobson and the fact he wanted paying in cash for certain things and that we had never had such an honest chairman.

J did raise some points (although I feel his life is blinkered by his father and certain associates) and Ron answered them all. My main point of being there today was to shield the Zone from any bad press J may have created with his posts the other evening...Ron is there for all us fans at any time, he is a SUFC supporter 100% and goes to every game,he did comment that if he was purely in this for money he would of built a stadium for 6000 fans as recommended by outside people, an then he would then be just in it for the monies....This is NOT Ron.....He is 1000000% committed to the success of SUFC.. If he was a Butcher and Chairman he would not be even asked such questions over the new stadium, because he deals in property to, it must be assumed he is in it for some personal property fortune to come, Wrong I am afraid people..I know him well enough, his heart is our club through and through..I can give you answers to most questions asked as did Ron when any particular point was raised by calling in the likes of the Club Accountant, Gary Adamson the Commercial Director and Scriv...

The Owners of the Zone in future will not tolerate abuse of the club without fact....Opinions of course are welcome but let us be half sensible about this...I await J's comments and the last thing Ron did was to give him his personal Mobile number incase he has any more things that bother him.

On behalf of the Owners of ShrimperZone.Com

John.

Hats off to Ron there and J come on the guy has been decent enough to entertain you mate can we put all this to bed?

Very well done John, and I hope that J now has the answers that he needs. It was quite blatantly obvious that he laid into Ron without the required facts, and I hope that armed with these facts, he now feels more at ease with RM at the helm.

Never, ever doubted that he has fallen in love with this club. Myself and my dad know this through speaking face-to-face with him a number of times. He is NOT in it for the money or the screwover and he DOES want to make this club a success.

I've felt sorry for the man due to some of the undue criticism he has received and he was under no obligation to call in anyone for a meeting/conversation, but the fact that he did and gave J his personal mobile number proves that he is a top bloke with nothing to hide.

I look forward to seeing Irate Ian's response to this

the question is the question that I have asked in part but not yet concluded by Ron but well know but I am not sure of the question but I will tell you the question after the question has been perceived in part but not untill I have further questions to tell myself now I need to quote my self happy so I am feeling better

[Happy] that what I was quoted by myself in an earlier quote

so I will ask Ron about the question of the questions in hand in part

Thanks

Irate Ian xx

roughly when will the new stadium be ready for use?

what happens if/when we have to leave the hall without the new stadium being ready?

any chance of these questions being answered?

Who's this John fellow?

And whats he done with Cricko?

PS. Get any good refreshments? Hope the tea is better than that in the West...

PPS. Who's else REALLY wants to know that mobile number?

As far as club chairmen go, I think that RM is about as good as you can get.

There will always be those who are sceptical, or those who just simply may not like him for whatever reason.

I have exchanged emails with him in the past and he has always answered any query that I have with speed, respect and honesty.

As I have explained to people in the past, it is as much the manner of asking the question as the question itself which dictates the speed and nature of the response.

Ask questions with courtesy and respect, and he will no doubt always respond.

You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Well done Ron. And I hope now that J has seen the evidence for himself we can all start quashing these conspiracy theories. After all, we are not called Southend Divided.

1. Once its built.

2. We roll up the pitch and lay it out in the new vic plaza. one goal will be at the Argos end (away) and the other at the New Look end (home). Prices will be dearer for these occupying a vantage point in the upper tier where coffee and prawn sandwiches will be available for a small fee.

hope that helps...

Finance for the new stadium of course is a little harder to raise within our current economic climate, although I am assured this is now 99% in place and the groundwork will start before the end of this year..We will not have to leave RH until the new ground is ready..It is possible the ancillary ,Hotel etc will not be finished in time though for the 2010 season.

Ron Martin is a LEGEND. Fair play to the bloke for arranging a meeting with a fan, and I know this isn't the first time its happened.

Seems very genuine to me.

John what is the deal with the £50 mill that Sainsburys are supposed to be coughing up for RH?

50 Mill! he wishes .....I think the sum involved is nearer 12 mill...although don't quote me on that...The last hurdle has been the development of RH with the councils, hence some of Ian's questions not answered yet.

Fair enough mate, that was just a number I seem to remember reading.

John, you have stopped J giving us the lowdown on his meeting by making a statement on the Zone before J has had chance to post. You bad boy !

Think the rest of us got fed up waiting though, fed up with the unsubstantiated stuff that gets spouted on here by all sorts of people. If it's an opinion then make it clear it's an opinion and what you are basing it on, not just repeating ad infitum that you know this or that fact to be the truth when all you're going on is some flimsy little notion. I hope he apologised to RM to his face.
