Tilson IN! Tilson IN!

I cannot believe some of the ridiculous posts along the lines of "Get rid of Tilson" or "Tilson don't know what he's doing" (note the use of bad grammar).

Simply:
1/ Tilson is the best manager we've ever had.
2/ Before he took over, we were seriously staring at relegation to the conference.
3/ Two LDV finals, two promotions, one championship, one League Cup quarter final, one defeat of Manchester United... not bad for your first 3 years of league management.
4/ We're playing in the Championship now lads. There are lots of big and good teams here. Other teams are just better than us. We are punching above our weight, thanks to Steve Tilson.

Anyone who seriously thinks we should get rid of Tilson is either an idiot with a very short memory, or is an idiot who is ungrateful, or is an idiot who doesn't have Southend United's best interests at heart, or is an idiot who doesn't understand the realities of football.

We might go down, but no other manager is going to keep us up if Tilson can't.

Declaration of interests:
I'm not a relative of Tilson.
I've been supporting us since 1979 (sometimes I wish I never caught that ball at my first match when I was 6!)

Right in respect to that.

Lets take a salesman for example, if you had a job as a salesman and you were not selling cars you would probably get a warning if this then persists you would probably get the sack!!!

At the end of the day its his job to win games and keep us in this league! He is not doing that we need a manager with expierence of championship football and who can bring in decent players! Not the crap that we seem to bring in.

I love Tilson to bits but maybe a job elsewhere involved in the club would suit him not a manager at this level! We need someone like Nigel Worthington who has Premiership and Championship expierence. Otherwise it will be a slippery slope and it took us a long time to get back up here and I don't wanna see us go straight back down!!!!

We're not punching above our weight, several teams on simular budgets have held there own in this league.

Why are we calling our own fans idiots? They have an opion which you may not agree with but they have Southend at heart.

The comment no manager is going to keep us up if Tilson cant is based on pure speculation which none of us know for sure.

The thing we do all want is for Southend to start winning football matches and I dont care how that happens, but it needs to happen quickly !

Well said fella!

Tilson will not get the boot if we are relegated, he has done the best he could with a league 1 squad. We have not brought in anyone above the class we have here already . So why should we think this division will be a breeze.

I hope we drag ourselves off the bottom and Mr Martin gives tilly a few quid to spend in january to bring in some quality from the championship or even france (work for arsenal).

Agree point well made!

12 points from 20 games is extreamly poor. I imagie the most pessimistic supported would have expected more than this!

Also was listening to the BBC Essex last night and could not believe that Tilly did not make any changes until the 81st minute!!

Even Scriv on BBC Essex seemed negative last night!
