Tilson gets it badly wrong!

the only two creative players on the pitch and what does our so respected manager do, take off a much rejuvinated and skillful Mark Gower and Jay Smith who just starts to take hold of the game and start displaying the touch and vision that we all know. Against 10 men with plenty of space these 2 should have stayed on the pitch, Bentley needs to be used in hard hussle and bussle games not when a bit of class is needed. Sorry rose tinted mob, Tilly has done well but today showed that he has got a lot to learn!

Suggesting nothing of the sort. I think shrimperee was being unduly harsh and personal in the above post.

That was the point I was getting across. wiggy can and should continue to post what she likes as long as it's not too rude, libelous etc.

The Col Ewe comment was a joke - i.e. it's ok to be rude to them because we happen not to like them very much.

I am not sure of the exact timings of the substitutions but I believe they may have both been after half an hour of the second half when we were clearly having trouble breaking Bradford down.

Jay Smith who I accept is a good player was clearly tiring and Gower for all his creativity was not particularly effective. In his after match interview with BBC Essex Tilly said that he replaced Gower with Cole in the hope that Cole's pace would get him around the full back and behind the back four. Gower for all his ability certainly didn't have the pace to do so.

At the time of the Gower substitution I thought that he may take Hunt off and replace him with Cole. Hunt was getting a lot of the ball and it may have allowed Cole from the right back position to link up with Gray. However I am certainly not qualified nor capable of making such decisions (thank God) and such a substitution may have backfired.

What substitutions would you have made?

I had to laugh at all those people slagging Tilson at the game yesterday for taking off Gower- these were the same idiots who was telling Gower he was useless and should give up...before he scored.

What you'd have put Cole on in the RB position?  

Che should've been substituted with Lewis tucking in as a 3rd centre-back in a 3-4-3 formation IMHO. Eastwood, Gray and Lawson up top with Cole left, Gower right and Maher in the middle with Jay and (latterly) Benno. Course this is only my opinion there are also other permutations but none worse than what actually DID happen yesterday.
