I think its just to take extra pressure off the players.
Im sure tilly was watching the scunny score as much as us tonight?
and if tranmere lose tommorow its all to play for especially as tranmere and scunny are playing each other last day of season?

If we were 10 points clear at the top of the table with 3 games left, I still don't thinik Tilly would accept we were champions - that's how he operates, and it's how he's always operated.
He tries to play things down, keep everything normal, and not ut pressure on the players. Tilly knows the score - he knows full well if we win on Monday, and Scunny don't, then we're right back in with a shout, but why would he build us up to get knocked down?
He's not being negative in the slightest - he's being realistic. When he had the interview, Scunny were 3 points ahead, with a vastly superior goal difference and 3 games in hand. They lost tonight, so we're as we were, just with one less game to play.
Tilly has a few achilles heels, but playing down our chances in an attempt to keep the players from getting over excited is not one in my book.

but he is right though; this season is basically over. Scunthorpe have 4 more points than us (added one for the superior GD) and have two games in hand.
In order for us to get into the play offs, this has got to happen -
* We have got to win every game (beating leicester at home and oldham away)
* Scunthorpe have got to get 8/18 or less (i.e. 2 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses)
* Tranmere have also got to gain a maximum of 10 points out of their last 5 games (3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss)
