Tilly , why no Nicolau?????

Can anyone throw any light on the subject of Nicky Nicolau's ommision from not just the team but the SQUAD at the moment ?? With Gower suffering a dip in form and still not looking totally fit surely N.N. should at least be on the bench ! A natural left footer who for my money looks likely to make something happen more often than not , are me and my old man alone in wondering if he is getiing a fair crack of the whip , I thought he was in good form amd unlucky to be dropped for Gower in the first place . I know N.N. is fit and available so reckon Tilly just doesnt rate him ?? Any views answers or ideas

Well, Bentley is suspended for the next two games so that frees a space in the squad, which will surely be taken by Nicolau.

I'm still not convinced by Nicky, though. Like I said in another thread, Rushden apart, he was hardly a world-beater in his last spell in the team.

We have four games left this season and we need our matchwinners to play a significant part. With Bentley (one proven match-winner) suspended for the next two games, I don't think we can afford to drop another. Even though his form this season has been lukewarm at best, Gower has still had his magic moments and I would keep him in the side.

I would have Nicky in the squad, though.

He means with Bentley being out, McCormack will come in, freeing up a space on the bench.

I don't really see the complete love in with Nicky. Against Rushden he was outstanding, but he didn't push on from there and make that left wing spot his own. He's clearly never going to get another chance at left back, and in my opinion he looks lost more often than not on the left wing. I imagine he'll be off in the summer, and because of his start to the season, he's really only got himself to blame for not staying in the clubs plans.

agree tottaly with that. Gower offers far more than nicky to the side. Ok nicky is left footed but gower is far far better at crossing, going pass players and of course shooting! God knows why everyone thinks nicky should be in the team!

Saw Nicolau in "The Fish House" buying chips at 6.45 on Fri night, he looked very glum to say the least. I would too considering Msr Gowers current form, he owes Tilly bigtime for his continuing faith thru this bad patch of form (rumours of gambling debts notwithstanding).Seems Guttridge has Nickys squad place now. Nicky on the bench at Cardiff could have made the difference with Che & him doubling up on Wrexhams cultured right wingback, Just an idea..

I just do not think that Tilly does not like Nicolau, and i honestly feel it is a great shame, as i feel he is a lot better than many who do well in this division, but hopefully he will be in the squad for this week, and see how he goes.

Nicky will be off in the summer. Tilly doesn't rate him and clearly isn't part of his plans. Granteed he would be a decent bench player to come on if Gower is struggling as he gives us that natural balance, what with him being left footed, but apart from his set piece deliverly, in my eyes he offers nothing else to the side.

If Tilly keeps him I'll be okay with that, but if his replaced I wont shed any tears.
