Tilly: They wern't good enough...

Supporting The Blue Voice
Tilly on the radio saying that Southend in the first half let themselves down today and he is determined to get us winning again.

I still think that Southend can get into the play-offs before the end of the season, but we will need to get stuck in and get the results. COME ON SOUTHEND, BELIEVE!!!

Up The Blues!

At least he is being honest unlike some managers who would blame the ref after conceding 2 pens. Let's put tonight behind us and focus on Saturday so we get a win

At least he was honest. Lets forget about this and concentrate on saturday and another win to get us closer to the play-offs. Tranmere lost, which has helped us.

nothing wrong with a bit of honesty, think we can really only afford one more loss this season, almost impossible but not completely,as some dude once said while we breathe theres hope

He did mention that the second penalty wasn't a penalty in his opinion, but he also added that the damage had already been done by then. Absalutely need to concentrate on Saturday in order to push for the play-offs.
COME ON SOUTHEND, I BELIEVE YOU CAN DO IT!

UTB!

Absalutely anything is possible in football, but we ALL need to get behind our team. How? By cheering them on and being POSITIVE, if you go to football matches, be prepared to use your voice, and don't just clap along with others, sing along, don't just sit there, lets make a great atmosphere on Saturday and cheer on the team from kick-off all the way through to the final whistle, UTB!

Seriously though, if we get in the playoffs and go up, what good will that do? At the moment our team isnt good enough and i think some good buys before next season, get a strong team again, make sure we finish first or second, and try to stay up in the championship instead of coming straight back down..

If, by any slim chance we did manage to go up, then surely we would be more able to attract players in of a calibre that we would need to maintain a stay. We'd stand more chance of getting Dervite on a season long loan to start with, and possibly Robinson on a permanent.

Those of our team that were around when we were up in higher echelons last time didn't look out of place in that league - maybe Barrett, but you can't discount his passion for the club - so just a few quality players coming in could make all the difference.

Make no mistake we've got a good side for this level and under normal circumstances I wouldn't be too worried if we didn't go up this season as yes it probably is too early. The thing that really worries me though is that we are all set to lose Dervite and Clarke this summer and I'm concerned that we'll be in the same boat next season as we were in the first part of this season, conceding goals and struggling to get into the top half. You can't replace players of Dervite and Clarke's quality at the drop of a hat, especially with no money.

If barrett had scored that header early on or barnard scored just after which was a good save, we wouldve got something from the game. But they did have good wingers its exactly what we lack!
