Can't see it, personally. I reckon that if you cut Tilly in half he'd have SUFC written down the middle like a stick of Southend Rock!

Hmmm, that's not so good news.
I was hoping he'd be an outsider, much like he is on the Sky Sports website vote just now.

Was hoping they'd give it to Sammy Lee, still FA will announce today so won't have long to wait. It would be typical with the week we've had, if this does happen. Although I can see a lot of positives about him taking the job aligned with his role at SUFC, I think we need 110% concentration & effort from everyone to try & perform the Great Escape!

I personally wouldn't worry too much about the odds. The market doesn't look particularly fluid. I'd be more inclined to go with a name who has already put themselves forwards.

Pearce isn't going to take it, not while he's in a state of flux at City.

TIlson would be an obvious choice and a good choice fro England. The only reason he's not winning the phone-polls is that no-one outside of Southend has a clue who he is.

From his point of view, it's a passport to a Prem or Championship job as well.

I still think he'll stay though.

Not that I would ever dare a fellow gambling website but if they're still running the odds on there, it's almost impossible to find even to a site-savvy bloke such as myself.

I'd have gone with Cotterill personally. Seems like an FA/Mclaren type of guy to have in the backroom.
