Thunderbirds Are Go - SUFC 1st Team Match Report - Bury - Sat 25th Oct 2014

HAHAHAHAHAHA "shrimpermoan" HAHAHAHA.

Well here's a moan for you - your match reports are rubbish. I don't know why they get a special thread on here week in week out - full of in jokes (allegedly, I don't find them funny but I'm not in the Trust Clique), nicknames and missing facts and opinions about the match. If you want to write and publish your reports then fine, it's good to see the Trust are publishing these (and then complaining elsewhere about being too busy to do other Trust business) but it seems weird to slag off the forum that tolerates your 'spam' and is home to hundreds of SUFC fans.

The thing about superstitions is that that they have some basis in fact. Now one particular Thunderbird, tall,
rangy, enjoys sticking a fork into live green stuff, will be writhing in agony at this point. Much like many of us
were when Weston came on as our super sub … old moan. Our Boycie has no truck with any phenomena that
has a hint of imagination about them and so stuff like witches, ghouls, trolls etc. are just are not allowed to
exist in his world (Maybe if he takes a peek out of his window next Friday evening he might find himself
reappraising that view!). In the meantime though, in the real world, that ruddy tune is costing us points!

WTF?

I think this is the 2nd time that anyone has ever actually replied to one of these Trust match report threads. Congrats.:winking:

Moany enough for you?

Nice one Pubey. These are written voluntarily by a Trust member, who is NOT a committee member, and are supposed to be a bit of light hearted fun. I don't know who he is but I am sure he will be delighted at your small minded attempt to have yet another pop at the Trust.

Incidentally, many Zoners call this "ShrimperMoan" at times, not noticed you having a pop at them?

Wahey took 20 mins for you to pop up and reply. That must be a record! Did you feel your ears burning, or does a special Trust alarm go off when someone posts about them?!

:net::net::net:

If the Trust are going to spam SZ with these threads and reports, then I'm sure they can take criticism when it turns out they're calling the place 'shrimpermoan'.

On reflection - it seems the author of the report doesn't really =/= the trust or how their reports are circulated, and so my criticism was perhaps a bit OTT and I apologise - however it'd be good for them to know they're read by people on here and they could be a bit more accessible and less 'cliquey/injokey'.

I have just got home from work and am sitting having lunch, that's how I came to notice it now. As I have said before, I do not access SZ at work.

Please tell me how is it "spamming" when it is posted in the Trust forum? If you don't want to read, don't visit, quite simple.

What are you having for lunch?

It's posted on Shrimperzone, not the 'Trust forum'.

I want to read it, I also want to exercise my right to post about it and praise/criticise it. SZ is a message-board, not a newspaper. If the Trust or whoever doesn't want that, then don't post it and just keep it on their website.

I think you will find it's published in a sub forum which is labelled "The Shrimpers Trust".

I think comments are welcome, however, your original post on the matter was hardly helpful and was clearly never intended to be anything other than a "pop".

My post was clearly half-serious and half tongue-in-cheek as a reaction to the 'shrimpermoan' gag. Not everything on here is, or has to be, helpful.

It wasn't "clearly" anything other than a pop.

Stop trying to second-guess the intention of my post. If you interpreted it as a pop then fine, I don't care, it's fairly typical that Trust Committee-members get all defensive straight away when someone is making a point about them.

Iirc martin used to post these reports on the yahoo list alone. You may recall the "list" it was how Shrimpers communicated on the internet before the advent of forums.
Anyway, I think that a trust committee member asked if these could be passed on by the trust to a wider audience , particularly as the technology has, moved on and email lists are not used as frequently.
Its hardly a time consuming task to repost on here
Considering where these tales started and the years of "list bashing" certain posters on this site dished in the past, smarting over couple of gentle comments is a bit much.

To Shrimperzone :

The Trust are posting and communicating, thats a good thing and one we all want to see, so lets not slaughter them when they do.

To the Trust:

Dont have a member slag off Shrimperzone and then post it to the forum, thats rather daft isnt it. (there is certainly plenty of moaning on here, but there is moaning throughout our fanbase including non-shrimperzone posters!)

Let's have a little respect on both sides, we are supposed to be on the same side.
