Zone Update Threads. Repeated and off Topic posts.

Ok guys , we do hear you but it is not always possible for Mods to be on here trying to sort posts to relevant threads.

We have all seen the same type of posts across several threads and it does our head in as much as yours. From now on any repeated posts in different threads by the same poster and that poster will be put on " Moderated User"

We are going to start a new Transfer thread and please keep it just to Transfer talk etc, do not bring Kev into it or anything else you might want to discuss. We will also open a "Shrimpermoan" thread for those that just wish to well, have a moan.

Keep to the threads about their topics or if you have something different to say , start a new thread.

The Mods are all voluntary and should not have to spend their spare time sorting out crap posted everywhere and off topic. TBH it is impossible. We do our best so please try to do yours and keep The Zone on track.

I pressed like but am probably as guilty as any for going off topic. Threads start but meander because they become a debate/conversation. I don't really think people intentionally sabotage threads but, just like when you are talking to mates on the way to a match, issues are rinsed and repeated and quickly lead to other Blue related issues/matters. Sorry mods.

I fully support your stance on this John you always rightly defend the ethos of SZ as a platform for Shrimpers opinions. Unfortunately the 'defending' of that purpose does provide an open door to turn opinion into retric and the practice of cross population of threads due to individual's actions. This undermines good debate as these contributions have no real bearing on the subject matter of the misused threads.
I envisage a heavy workload, hopefully only initially, for all the MODS but you guys have my thanks for adopting this approach and it's down to us contributors at the end of the day to follow a simple etiquette to sustain good debate and exchange of views and opinions.

Theres also been some brilliant and fascinating stuff, albeit off topic

I get what is now happening , but the risk is a significant drop off in those wider insightful conversations

There will rightly or wrongly be a big drop off on transfer rumours etc and for some the title shrimper moan might keep some at bay
Thats the risk although not intended as censorship, that is the reality
Best to review in a few months ?

Worth a try though given the negative side of so many repeated off topic events and moans

Human nature being what it is though , the likelihood exists after a while of a load of claprtap sparked forth on the back of a thread entitled something like " What was the strangest animal /creature you ever saw run on a pitch "

Just a reminder . Please keep posts in threads to the topic of THE THREAD. Some of you are making the Mods life impossible to try to keep up with this with random posts just being put everywhere.
